I've lived in Green Tree in 2012. Of the almost four years that I've been down there, I think the parkway from Green Tree to Rosslyn Farms (slightly past Carnegie) has been under construction three of the four years.

2012 - 99% sure it was
2013 - no construction
2014 - there was construction
2015 - construction currently in progress

I'm so thankful I don't have to travel 28 to and from work anymore. I'm 32 and that road has been under constant construction since the day I was born it seems. Just an absolute mess of a road both ways, though the recent improvements seemed to have made it a bit more tolerable.

I think 28 is the second best option to driving into the city now that the construction is complete. 279 North being the first.

If you know anyone who drives to work, please tell them to take this survey. I'm friends on Facebook with a couple of anti-driving cyclist folks, and I see them sharing this survey with the hopes that the responses will be flooded by people of their "Everyone should bike to work" ilk.

Biking to work is great and all. But it's Pittsburgh. That's not a viable year-round solution.

That's just an excuse for you and your fat lazy butt to use your polluting deathbox. Don't you know they make snow tires for bicycles? Just put them on and ride, you fascist car-driving pig.

Seriously—they say stuff like that. There's a line between being pro-bike and being anti-car, and I know people who are way over it.

From April until September I had a 10 minute drive. Now it's about a 30 minutes to the north hills.

I should respond to the survey just to ask if the city will do anything about adults riding bikes on the sidewalk.

If you are too chicken to ride in the street: walk, drive or take the bus. Don't almost run me over and get angry with me because you were going too fast and were too stupid to let me know you were behind me.

The survey was based on your zip code. With my zip code being 15217 they were asking about either a light rail or busway from downtown to squirrel hill, or bike infrastructure through Oakland.

If you live far outside of the city you are limited in your options...but you had to have known that when you moved out there.

It's definitely not year round, right now it's 10 months for me. March through December. But when I lived in Friendship I was able to bike in every month but February.

I had 2 questions about light rail. I live towards Greensburg. If there was a light rail option I might actually use it.

Oh and any chance kids can be helicopter'd to school? Seriously traffic increased 10 fold when school started

I don't think more bike infrastructure is a bad thing. It just seems like no matter how much they add, there are always people who still ride wherever they want and act like dicks while doing it.
