Gonna eat this stuff everyday for a week.

Worms, parasites, fungus in my intestines stealing vitamins and nutrients...

Robbing me of my gains?

**** no.

They must die

What is Diatomaceous?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatomaceous_earth

Basically it's a rock that is easily crumbled into a fine powder. It has a variety of uses, one of which is being the main ingredient in some pest control products.

So I'm no science guy, but am I understanding correctly that Algernon is eating dirt now?

That is correct. Another term for DE is "dirt"

It is used as a filtration aid, mild abrasive in products including metal polishes and toothpaste, mechanical insecticide, absorbent for liquids, matting agent for coatings, reinforcing filler in plastics and rubber, anti-block in plastic films, porous support for chemical catalysts, cat litter, activator in blood clotting studies, a stabilizing component of dynamite, and a thermal insulator
lol, all that good stuff but no human conception purpose listed.

We used that as a water treatment chemical at the swimming pool I worked at in high school/college.

I can buy a food grade plastic bucket, but that doesn't mean it's to be eaten.

It is a cheap, effective dewormer for cattle and sheep.
Lambs fed with D.E. appeared to have a faster weight
gain, cleaner tails, and brighter wool. The overall body
condition of the lambs seemed to improve.

Five hundred pound heifers fed D.E. free-choice to on
pasture showed no worms either mid- or late-season. The
cattle consumed D.E. at a rate of one lb per week per
heifer.
