Speaking of longevity...TIL that John Riggins' two best NFL seasons occurred when he was 34 and 35 years old.

All this talk about rating running backs reminds me of
Steelers first round bust Tim Worley. He was 6’2” and ran like he was 5’2”.

For 1 game or 1 season, Bo Jackson would 100% be on my list. He may be in the top 5 of my selections. Not kidding at allThere was never a full list built, but going by Schmenguin's ideals yesterday, he'd probably have to be at the top.

Not a direct response to anything recently said, but careful with really short careers - sustainability is still an issue and not always evident in a skill set. Becomes problematic in hockey - cases like Bryan Fogarty, etc.

Agreed but if we are talking for 1 game or 1 season there is absolutely no doubting Bo Jackson's ability. He was so freakish that he broke his own body. Not a direct response to anything recently said, but careful with really short careers - sustainability is still an issue and not always evident in a skill set. No, you're not. Tifosi may want to gift that to you -- the notion that all HOF RBs are superior to Martin -- but I have higher standards and you certainly have the burden of proof that a guy who had Martin's career is less talented/good than 100 RBs in league history and is basically just a guy who got lucky and happened to be in the right place at the right time, and you could plug in Earnest Jackson and get the same results. Go ahead and make your case for Larry Csonka or Floyd Little over Curtis Martin. And I am not even going to use their raw totals against them, compare how those two performed relative to their peers and how Martin did.we're at 51 now. i don't have any conference calls to kill time on today. you can keep waiting.Still waiting on that 100 RB list.
Please, I beg of you, come up with a new take. I need it injected right into my veins, this one isn't having the same effect.

i have a visceral relationship with C Mart. i think it's because he freaking killed us in that playoff game from 95 or 96 or whatever. "THIS guy is running all over us?!!?", mini-shmenguin may have been heard to exclaim. or maybe he just had one big run. don't remember. but the origin story isn't important. No, you're not. anyways...i would need to contrive another hot take, which isn't fun. i have some thoughts about emmit smith, but he didn't go to pitt, so you guys aren't going to lose your grip on reality over it.

I mean the Pitt thing is a joke, if it were that level of homerism, I would be selling Curtis Martin is the fourth greatest back ever, look at the rushing totals!
I would love to hear an anti-Emmitt Smith take.
