The gallon would be harder for me to give up than the mile. Though probably because I'm a runner. The metric gas station signs boggle my mind.

12 standard is easier and more intuitive in real life than 10 standard.

(Doubt me? Try cutting something into thirds using metric)

What if you need to cut into fifths?

Eddie Izzard: I can understand the appeal of the Imperial system of weights and measures; it's so easy to learn - everything is divisible by 1.

As an aside, I was watching a documentary on measurements a while back, and it mentioned that the reason the number 60 showed up so often in older measurement systems—and is still present in our units of time—is because it is wonderfully divisible. Sixty can be evenly divided by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30.

Since I only have ten fingers, ten standard works for me.

I woldn't mind going metric with distances, but I don't think I could get my head around understanding weather forecasts that use celsius.

My problem with Celsius is that it's less precise as the scale is tighter. Though I suppose you could start listing temp to the tenth of a degree for more precision.

That's only really a thing if you're hung up on round numbers, tho, right?

96°F is not more 'precise' than 35.5556°C.

You just repeated what I said, though. ;)

Tell me how much better Stone is for a weight measure, too. ;)

Weather is the easiest one. For simple conversion, double it and add 32. For actual, times 9/5 and add 32.

Im all about it
