A sandwich is a human construct, it can't be coincidental. If there was, say, an earthquake and a kitchen is tossed, and everything happens to land just right where a piece of lunch meat, a slice of cheese, and some lettuce lands in between two pieces of bread it's still not a sandwich until someone comes by and remarks it as such.

TL;DR: if a sandwich assembles in a kitchen and no one is around to acknowledge it, it doesn't make a sound.

No. Didn't feel like preempting as I assumed it could go unsaid; but an item declared 'sandwich' by someone still needs to meet basic parameters for sandwichood as determined by a reasonable person observing cultural norms.
