Yeah the elimination of the cross crease cheese is easily the best part of the game. They also severely nerfed backhand blind passes so no more tape to tape ridiculous no look plays. You're actually able to defend this year.

I was kinda bored late last week and looking to jump into something new. Picked up AC Odyssey on sale to give it a try. Hadn't played an AC game since Black Flag, and wasn't really sure what to expect. I had heard that it was a departure from the 'original' AC formula, but figured even if it kinda sucked it would be fun to run around ancient Greece for a while.

So far, I'm kinda blown away. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. Combat feels a bit more challenging. Feels way more like an open world rpg than previous AC games that I played. Maybe the low expectations are part of it, but really digging it so far.
The map is 50 sq miles and takes like 2.5 hrs to traverse in real time. Which seems bananas.

Just started the Back 4 Blood download. I enjoyed the Left 4 Dead series so I’m looking forward to this.

Online. I signed up for their pro subscription which was 20 bucks for the year, they open up the releases to their pro members first.

If any of yinz are feeling nostalgic, go hit up GOG.com. I just bought Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas for $23. They also threw in TES Arena, and TES Daggerfall for free.

I played a bit of Dread today. Well, yesterday at this point. Basically up until the first boss.

The first thing I have to say is that the controls are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 3DS game. The melee counter and free aiming just feel SO much better here. It could be using the pro controller instead of a handheld, but seriously, it feels natural here.

The only problem I really have with the game is that I kind of hate having to run from the EMMI. It really has nothing to do with how it is implemented here, I just don't love this kind of stuff in games in general... I want to kill enemies not run and hide from them.

The game seems promising, still very early, but it has potential to be the first Metroid game I've really enjoyed since Corruption.
This dude needs to chill. It's like he's never played a Metroid game before or something. I certainly haven't found anything to be unfair so far.

Metroid has always been about exploration without hand holding. In this case though, as pointed out by various people, the game tells you about this very early. Shooting walls and ceilings to find hidden stuff has been a thing since the very first game.

First couple hours of Far Cry 6 are very formulaic. (You don't say.....)

Some of these shots are just ridiculous. What makes this even more impressive is that with five or six holes to play, the outcome was very much in doubt. Wait till you see how he clinched the record on 18.

Xbox fridge goes on sale. Xbox fridge immediate goes out of stock. Xbox fridge already listed on eBay for $300. Scalpers are the worst.

Finished the main story in Lost Judgment. Yet another great entry in the Yakuza series.

Still tons of stuff to do. Won't get anywhere near the platinum, but as per usual will play until I run out of stuff I want to do.

So I've been playing the AH on NHL Hut more than anything for the past week. I"ve built a spreadsheet - and my focus is to get 500K coins just through gambling on the AH.

It's actually pretty fun, and something I can keep running all day.

It's also interesting, as I started with practically zero - having spent all my money on packs and getting nothing, so I said screw it - and I've made roughly 20K in one day.

No more FIFA games, potentially

I like FIFA playing hardball - because I truly wonder if anyone has updated the terms to the amount of money coming through FUT experience. I've wondered if they've just been giving out blanket deals and not really changing terms, etc.

FIFA is not only the top selling EA Sports franchise, it’s the top selling video game franchise of all time. Losing that license would kill EA.

FIFA is basically a license to print money for EA with all the FUT **** while putting minimal effort into career mode. I would be stunned if they don’t renew the license. Ultimate Team across all sports games made $1.6B for EA Sports in 2020. That number shrinks considerably without FIFA.

Edit: Nevermind. They get nothing out of FIFA other than the name. All league, teams, and player inclusions are negotiated separately and have nothing to do with FIFA.

I bought NHL based on some comments in here. Gameplay is definitely different.. the poke check is just ridiculous now. You can't really skate anywhere, every online game I play is basically 2-1. It's really hard to score. Hopefully they fix that a bit. It used to be the opposite, automatic tripping penalty. And now you can't really take one if you tried. There's gotta be a happy medium

I enjoy it greatly still. There's some quirks, but if you played anything in the last 4 years, it's a dramatic improvement.

I'm sure they will patch it soon. I think its better the way they have it now, but does needs some slight tweaking. You can adjust sliders at least in offline play to help make things a bit more open/easier to score.

I just hope they don't patch it too much and make it like how it was before.

Oh agreed. It's still better. More realistic.. you can actually bump people off the puck without having to line them up and light them up.
