Developer 1: "Well, we've already done World War I, World War 2, current conflicts, and future conflicts. I'm all tapped out of ideas."

Developer 2: "How about we just take all of those assets and cram them into one game? Just slap on some time travel bulls**t."

Developer 1: "Brilliant!"

I do wish they made a single player version of that game. I have zero interest in multiplayer.

I can't freaking wait. I don't so much care about Portal yet, but moreso another modern shooter from the BF series because Warzone is 100% dead to me.

Hopefully they have a very rigid anti-cheat

You can actually setup all AI matches, where all of your teammates and enemies are AI players. Which is how they did things for the first couple of games in the series, before having to cater to the lower specs of the PS3/Xbox 360.

6 days until MSFS is released on XSX.
Now available for downloading/preloading (97GB) in XSX.
:thumb: Mine ended up being a bit over 100 GB and I had to move around a few games to free up the internal drive. Really looking forward to that first flight.

Yeah, mine ended up being slightly over 100GB because of the initial 8GB install, and then the 97GB preload. Cleared my schedule tomorrow afternoon.

My initial impression of MSFS is actually just… meh. I’ve only flown out of a few airports so far, but damn near all of the buildings, etc. are flat. Flew over my local mall, which basically looked drawn onto the pavement.

Yep. Time to get a 3080ti for that PC you just built.

Bummer. Is that a console concession?

I had only read one review on the Series X version and it seemed mostly positive on how it was "ported" over.

Dunno. I looked through the megathread on Reddit, and saw that others are having the same experience. I know that there are specific airports and waypoints that are ultra high detail, but everything else shouldn’t be so lackluster.

Simulator turned into game for console loses sense of realism.

They spent long enough developing this that I expected better. It’s not like the XSX is bad hardware…

I feel like there's a great lull in video games right now. I haven't really played one new PS5 game on my PS5.

Does seem kind of slow this year, outside of Cyberpunk (lol).

Dunno, games have been absolutely rolling in on Xbox thanks to GamePass.

Ratchet and Clank on PS5 is really fun to play and a good show off of the system. I enjoyed going back and playing older games with better visuals and framerates like GOT, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War.

Spiderman was fun but short. I played the hell out of AC Valhalla.

I have some ps plus games queued up I downloaded and want to start playing.

To put it mildly, MSFS not looking as good on console is unsurprising.

I played last night and thought it looked pretty damn good. Flew through my small Ohio hometown and noticed multiple landmarks including the mall (in 3D) and the high school football stadium, which even had the proper paint job on the field. Of course I then tried and failed to find my current home. Heinz and PPG looked good. I did crash into the Waterfront though, probably somewhere around Red Robin.

The larger cities that have aren't running off of Bing data look insanely good on console.

The GPU in the XSX is comparable to an RTX 2080, it's already meeting the ideal spec requirements. And it's not that it's lacking high quality details, it's that they seemingly replaced buildings and structures from Bing maps with plan computer-generated models that are shaped similarly. I've seen the same thing in the PC version of the game on YouTube, so my complaint isn't limited to the Xbox version.

It seems to have the biggest problem with bridges. The Three Sisters downtown don't look right at all. They're basically big yellow blocks. And I've seen some bridges that are flat and appear to have sunk in the rivers.

To put it really simply, there are two layers to the map. A graphical layer overlaid onto DTED data, which is elevation. The 'sunk' bridges show up on the graphical layer but are overlaid on the river elevation so they appear to be sunken.

Bridges have to be modeled like buildings.

I have been exclusively playing the Mass Effect trilogy on my PS5..

I could have done that on my PS4...
