I've only played through the first 3 kingdoms so far but it's been a ton of fun. That is making the slow start to Zelda that much more tough ti swallow.

I mean walking around as a T-Rex and kicking the **** out of some chain chomps? Hell yes.
Just as an FYI, as you beat other kingdoms and advance in the story mode, additional things unlock in the kingdoms you already beat, so it gets to be even more fun. I've been literally looking in every inch of the kingdom, you'll find a crap load of power moons and purple coins just hidden in the most random places.

After I finish this up (I'm also playing Ninja Gaiden/Star Tropics on the NES classic and still need to beat 2 Lego games and Batman Arkum Asylum on Wii U), then I am going to play Zelda.

I want to fight whoever decided breakable weapons was a good idea for BOTW.

It's really hurting my ability to enjoy the game.

At least so far, there have been a bunch of times where I suddenly found myself with no feasible weapons and I have to run like a dodint because I can't attack even the simplest of enemies.

There is no fun in that. I shouldn't have to spend every damn second looking for weapons.

And on the occasion that you do find a decent weapon, it's only a matter of time until it breaks too.

I would love breakable weapons in some other games, but that does not seem to fit the mold of Zelda.

It makes me sad... There's this huge open world that I want to just run around and explore, but the game is like nope. You get to forage for weapons instead.

The issue is also how fast the weapons break, at least in this early stage. Most are done in 4 or 5 swings, and if you're fighting a pack of enemies that require multiple hits, you may burn through 2 or 3 weapons just on them... Hard to keep up with that.

Yeah, for a game like Zelda where exploration is the key selling point, it is a dumb idea.

Breakable melee weapons in a game like The Last Of Us makes sense, as consumables are part of the survival aspect of the gameplay. But in a fun, run around and take a look type of game, that seems pretty bad form.

I'm not a huge fan of weapon degradation in games. I can tolerate armor because if you are good enough it shouldn't matter as much, but when you literally can't fight anymore, that's a problem.

Fallout 3 gets a pass because it's super easy to repair weapons.

@NAN

If you haven't already played them, I recommend the Lego Marvel games. In particular, The Avengers was probably my favorite. The flight controls in that game are by far the best of any other Lego games (and sadly Marvel Super Heroes 2 was a step backwards in those regards). Had a blast buzzing around as Iron Man or Vision and Quicksilver provides super fast ground travel.

All 3 are worth playing though, IMO.

I'm not a big DC guy, but Lego Batman 3 was a lot of fun too. Great way to learn about DC characters...as every single one of them is in the game somewhere. Stephen Amell recorded the Green Arrow's voice, too, which was a nice touch.

I love the Lego games. I haven't played any of the Marvel one's yet, but that will be on the list. The kids love them too, so it allows me to play a game with them that I probably like better than them.

it definitely gets better and to the point where it's really not even a concern. Amibo drop chests help to get some better weapons. I tackled dungeons early and then used the voodoo statue to trade my stamina in for all hearts when I had enough to get the master sword. That sword went through bad guys like butter at a relative early stage and made farming for ancient pieces for armour a lot more easier. Also, when you get a little more into it, look for the snowball game to load up on rupies.

also a fun part of Zelda when you run out of weapons is the different ways to kill bad guys. Rolling boulders down a hill on them, exploding tnt barrels, setting camps on fire, etc

Finally got my first solo win on Fortnite last night. Don't really play solos too much, nor do I care but nice to finally get one. I've been consistently winning more since I switched to builder pro. Up over 155k xp for the season so well on my way for 500k.

I finally moved my Xbox One down to our 70 inch TV in the basement. Waited way too long to do this

I had a PS3 hooked up to a 55" TV, and that was too much. Now, PS3 and 4Pro are connected to a 27" monitor I sit 14"away from. I could go up into the 30s for the display, but I gave no real complaints now.

I got back into Command and Conquer: Renegade again. It may be a 16 year old FPS, but dammit is it still fun to play online.

NHL19 beta was released yesterday. World of Chel or whatever is pretty neat. I enjoyed the 1v1v1 pond hockey.

I'm still holding on to my 73" TV because I don't think I can afford to upgrade it to 4k and keep the same size.

Another fun Gran Turismo: Sport moment. Note that the Corvette received no penalty.

I generally don't believe in unavoidable accidents but I can't see any way that I could've done anything to avoid that.
