Pizzelle's all the way. Gotta be the anise ones, too.

If you pick oatmeal raisin, you're banned forever. That's not a cookie, that's breakfast.

a good snickerdoodle (freshly baked, nice and moist) is easily the best. there are too many mediocre snickerdoodles to make it the best, tho. thumbprints, if the icing is solid, is second. chocolate chip is probably the most consistent tho in terms of my favorite since its the hardest to goof up

chocolate peanut butter is the gold standard of cookies, but from this list I think I'd go with Macademia/white choclate

I'd pick other. The cookie sandwiches from the Arcade Bakery at Macys is the thing I will miss the most. Two chocolate chip cookies with a lot of lot of chocolate frosting between them.

I also like oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and cranberries way more than raisins.

Wow. Almost my exact answer. I'd just add some walnuts to the chocolate chips.

If you can find it, a good snickerdoodle is hard to beat.

Tough, tough choice. Why is there no option 'ALL'. Seriously.
I'll go with Oatmeal Raisin, but homemade, not those gross store-bought, like Grandma's.

Back when I was a baker, we had an old recipe for Cowboy Cookies...that recipe and cookie was my favorite. It was essentially a chocolate chip/oatmeal cookie with pecans, and coconut. Fantastic crumble, almost like a shortbread cookie but soft in the middle. Real butter. Real eggs. Such deliciousness...even the raw batter was sensational. I have the recipe, but it was based on weight rather than cups/teaspoons, so difficult to make at home until I got a digital kitchen scale.

If I remember correctly, the softness in a Grandma's cookie is derived from added palm oil. I just don't like that flavor. All the soft cookie varieties, like the Chips Ahoy Chewy and the like use the palm oil as an ingredient. not my thing.

I went peanut butter, but I am a big fan of white choc/macadamia nut as well. Was a tough call.

Commercially, you can use a product called inverted sugar. Normal granulated sugar repels water when baking, and the product becomes crisp. Add inverted sugar - we used a liquid and removed some granulated sugar - and water is retained, leaving a soft texture.

Grandma probably undercooked her cookies...something a commercial bakery shouldn't do - food poisoning, mold, etc.
