"Running"

If that's what you want to call it, sure.

Canadian Grand Prix canceled for the second year and replaced by Turkey, which did run a great race last year. It sounds like Canada refused to waive the 14-day quarantine period for people coming into the country, which doesn't fly for F1's schedule.

Took the drivetrain out. Need to source a new motor shortly. Also going to refresh the transmission with new shift detents, pivot pin, racier clutch, etc.

Drained the oil and found this steady stream of flakes in the oil, all kinds of colors in there. Recall that my friend didn't notice the oil pressure light in the dash and drove it over two miles at the redline before it shut off, doh:

My Dad came up with this makeshift paint booth. He's going to start painting the interior this week so we can send it to the cage builder on June 4th.

In the meantime, I'm heading down to Texas to compete in the Time Trial in an FR-S. I will pass through CBear's area on Friday morning, staying out near Concorde before picking my friend up in KC.

Still trying to go to the competition school in this car in August.

Really having a lot of fun, even if the deadline aspect is a little stressful.

And Turkey has now been replaced by a second race for Austria.

God, I hate Monaco.

Gotta say, though, I loved the special blue-and-orange Gulf livery the McLarens were wearing. If I were them, I'd keep that going forward.

It was hard to pass to begin with and with this elongated cars nowadays, it’s almost impossible. Also sucked that Leclerc had to drop out prior, was really rooting for him. The most interesting thing was hearing Hamilton flip his **** on the radio.

Gulf livery needs to stay for sure

There are some really weird rules in the sporting regulations covering liveries. Like, teams have to go through hoops to get those special one-offs approved. F1 has a habit of rake stomping itself over silly things.

Also, Monaco is amazing, and you are wrong for not liking it.

Monaco as a whole is amazing. The atmosphere, the beauty, the history. But the racing itself isn’t good and is made worse due to the current size of the cars.

I would say that Monaco is great as a spectacle and utterly turds at being a race. I mean, if they wanted to run it as an exhibition or "all-star race" or something like that, I'd be fine with that, but I despise the fact that that **** race is actually a points-paying F1 race when everyone knows is a **** track where no one can pass.

I met Helio the day after the 2010 Long Beach GP. He came to the office at Konami for some reason, and I had 3 die-cast Champ Car models on my desk. When we were introduced, he saw the models and was like "Well this is awkward....." He's a good dude.

That moment with Mario fired up the waterworks.

I've never been the biggest fan of IRL but that was a phenomenal race today, from start to finish.

It’s amazing how such small errors are magnified in a race like Indy. Dixon messes up his fuel mileage and can’t re-fire in the pits and he’s done. Rahal’s pit crew doesn’t tighten the rear wheel assembly and he’s comically done. I made a joke to an Indy friend that Helio would need a cherry picker to get him on the fence but he’s still pretty spry.

Turns out he had no front brakes, and later on Simona and Will Power would do the same thing (not to mention countless others having trouble getting to pit road speed). One of the theories is that teams weren't filling the master cylinder all the way to try to keep pressures down and reduce friction from the pad rubbing on the rotor.

Was a blast at the track. Generally felt like more than 135k, I've definitely been to sparser 500s during the split. Got sunburnt legs while having goosebumps, so that was a new one.

Looks like the Singapore GP has been canceled. Racer says that one of the options to replace it would be two races for the United States just like we're getting two races for Austria.

Unless you change what configuration they're running, I hate double headers.
Also, tif must be a little happier the last few weeks.
