I will be going to Charlotte in November!

Their 2007 tour album is probably a good indicator of setlists, and they sounded really good back then. Phil isn't moving around much, but should be in good voice after his long solo tour in 18-19.

This is such peanut brain **** here. There are so many reasons why punk can’t / won’t happen again, and none of them have to do with cancel culture.

The cultural monolith gatekeepers are gone, the appetite for counterculture in music is gone with it. Any kid can record a song of 80’s punk quality and put it out with minimal effort.

I've tried to teach Mrs Tif some basic music theory over the years, and I've used a lot of Dave Brubeck cuts to try and teach her odd meters. My main takeaway from the endeavor is that I am a crap music teacher.

I do not like it as much as her boygenius stuff. But I like it.

5/4 is such a smooth time signature. That extra beat adds something special.

Money by Pink Floyd is in 7/4 (and then 4/4 for the solo). That's another favorite of mine.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to an arena concert, and I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by this, but 2 upper deck tickets for Genesis in Charlotte came out to $520 plus fees.

What’s the secondary ticket market looking like these days? Will those prices drop at all before November?

Been to several smaller venue/theater shows in the last couple years, but the last proper area show we went to would've been Foo Fighters in San Jose in September 2018.

Don't know what that market is like, but my experience has been that whatever day today is will be the cheapest the tix on the secondary market will be until about 10 minutes after the show starts.

There's an ad on Facebook for the new Genesis tour. Phil Collins apparently sits during the show (not uncommon for him but he's not drumming anymore). It's sad.
