I really like a lot of his solo stuff, too. Strange Overtones (with Brian Eno) is excellent.

I had a free Apple Music subscription, so I went ahead and signed up. I was listening to some music that just sounded weird. No idea why, but they just sound bad. Went online to see what was up. Apparently Dolby Atmos is enabled automatically for some popular tracks to give it a surround sound in your airpods/earbuds? It's really dumb. Went and turned it off and magically everything sounds way better.
Not sure who's idea that was, but they need fired asap.

Man, Drumeo is a great YouTube channel. Soo many good videos, like the drummer for MegaDeth coming up with a drum track for "Mr. Brightside" on the fly without ever having heard the song before:
The videos they did of Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett (best know for being Michael Jackson's drummer) are crazy. That man is a machine. And he said in a later interview that he hadn't played any of those songs in 10 years, went in unrehearsed, and was playing from memory:

She's a fun follow on IG. She's obviously solid on a set but I prefer her rudiment videos. Like, this is stupid:This made me smile.

Just saw a Dave Grohl commercial for Crown Royal and his boobs were showing through his black t-shirt.

I think I would be more offended by the fact that he's advertising for Crown Royal than the moobs part.

I didn’t notice because I wasn’t looking at his chest…

It's very obvious on a big tv. lolI didn’t notice because I wasn’t looking at his chest…

What is also very obvious, whatever size screen or whether his man boobs grow or shrink with the tides, is that he is still Dave Grohl.

I don't think I've seen such high quality OG lineup Genesis footage before. @Freddy Rumsen

Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World announced a second leg of FOB's So Much (for) Stardust tour.
They'll be in Pittsburgh (PPG arena), Baltimore, Columbus, and NYC (MSG). My brother (who had a band in high school and they covered plenty of both bands) lives in NYC and he'll be turning 35 in the spring. My best friend never got a bachelor party due to covid and loves both bands. Thinking about heading up to NYC for a belated bachelor party/35th birthday. Should be a good time.

I do not associate those bands with the same genre of music at all but that would be a fun show. I saw Jimmy Eat World right when Bleed American was released. The Promise Ring opened for them. It was an awesome show.

They were both prominent on any mixed CD I made in college. While they may not have the exact same style of music, they certainly have big overlap in fan bases. Throw in Death Cab or maybe Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin and you've got a nice little venn diagram where if you're a fan of one, you're likely a fan of all three, despite being very different music.
Edit: and now that I think of it, FOB's tour this summer was with Bring Me the Horizon... wayyyy different band from them.

Yeah I guess they could all be thrown under the 'emo' label. Although, Jimmy Eat World (and I'll mention Promise Ring in there too since they were so influential over JEW) are more early emo and I would consider Fall Out Boy more of that emo pop punk kind of thing that was popular in the mid 2000s. I'd throw Death Cab into plain old indie rock. Something Corporate is who I'd expect to be touring with Fall Out Boy. I don't know Jack's Mannequin at all. I was never big into Fall Out Boy so I wouldn't be part of that venn diagram.

Lead singer from Something Corporate left and made Jack's Mannequin.
It probably helps to link the two since they alternated albums releases there for a bit...
2001: Bleed America
2003: Take this to your grave
2004: Futures
2005: From under the cork tree
2007: Infinity on high
2007: Chase this light
2008: Folie à Deux

Because of this discussion I’m going to put something corporate’s essential playlist on Apple Music. If I cry into my yogurt at lunch it’s all yinz fault
