I need to step right into the gym and start doing curls. I don't want to go change.

Can we at least concede that the Tebow criticism was not because of his religion, but that he's a one of a kind generational d-bag?

In what is he that? Because he hocks weird shirts?

I mean the man goes around raising millions for charity and does a ton of stuff under the radar.

I read a bunch of good things about the Nike Joyrides and bought my first pair of Nikes in about 10 years. When did they get so narrow?

There are a few comments in the reviews that mention some time to break them in, but I don't remember Nike or any other shoe being so damn snug out of the box.

My answer is, "the late 1980s." I wore Nike shoes for years as a kid, but one year when I was maybe 14 or so when the models had changed over, none of the new shoes fit me. Everything was too narrow, and that included the ones that were supposed to fit on the wide side. My mother found a shoe store in Butler that sold New Balance shoes, and I've been wearing them ever since--probably 30 years now.

I'm thinking it was more recently than that.

They used to make a shoe called Nike ACG in the mid 2000s that fit my foot perfect. I used to run the trails behind my house and those shoes were great because of the fit and because they had lots of support in them. Sometime in the late 2000s, they stopped making that version of the ACG. It wasn't a size thing. It was a "this shoe is really ugly and not in a haha, so ugly that you kinda like it" way. I ended up buying one more pair of Nikes shortly after I moved here in 2011 thanks to a mispacked bag that only had one shoe. Since I was living out of hotels at the time, I needed a pair of casual shoes and I had found a pair on closeout cheap, and I don't remember them being that narrow either.

Fast forward to 2021 and the only way I can get these shoes to fit are with really thin socks. Which kinda sucks because the shoe itself seems really comfortable, but it is as snug as can be on my foot. I'm just hoping the break-in time that I've read is true.

I cycle through the same two nike shoe types because they are the only ones that come in wide it seems.

I believe they are nike revolution 5's or 7's. I go through like a pair a year...buy another pair and move the original pair to use to cut grass in or something.

You're getting old and need wide shoes. Just start buying New Balance shoes already.

Bump.

I'm in a wedding this weekend. So I go to pick up my tux today and there isn't a vest. Full black formal tuxedo and no vest, just suspenders and a bow tie. Is this like the new look or something? No vests? The last wedding I was in (2019) we didn't wear vests either, but we had more of a formal suit and necktie, not a bowtie. So it didn't look as terrible. This just looks plain dumb. Or am I old?

I'm actually pretty surprised they're doing formal tuxes. Suits have been the trend as far as I can tell.

Ok, well what's the difference...

There's not a long tail or anything, but there is a silk stripe down the leg and the lapel

Material. Tuxes will have that satin/silk lining that you're talking about. The shirt is also a different style and generally they will come with a cummerbund or vest and a bow tie. We decided to go with suits instead of tuxes for a few reasons. Our wedding is during the day and the reception will be informal. Tuxes just wouldn't match the event. Also, I've been in a few weddings and I absolutely hated renting tuxes, paying money to wear something uncomfortable and then returning it. I just told everybody to wear whatever suit they want. If they want to get a new one for the wedding they can, but I just assume they'll wear something they already own.

I just texted my brother (groom) and he told me that he, my dad, and his future FIL are wearing vests. So we will now be looking even more dumb than I thought.

A tux should have either a vest or a cummerbund. If there's neither, then something is missing.

Yeah, it's most definitely a tuxedo. Satin lapel, satin stripe down the pants.

The only thing I don't like about that outfit is that the suspenders should be buttoned, not clip-on. Otherwise, that young man is lookin good.

Alright yinz.... what's a good everyday, around the house, walking, running at the park, shoe? I have a pair of skechers that I wear for work. Very comfy and have lasted over two years of pretty much every day wear. Starting get ratty now, so I'm looking to replace them, but I also need a pair of everyday shoes. I had a pair of adidas that I liked, but they're not lasting as long as I'd like and there's a big chunk of the foam heal type thing that fell out.

I am not a stylish man. I care about comfort and durability.
