Ok, so this is something about AEW that drives me crazy. They spend months wasting MJF and Jericho with stupid comedy bullshit, then finally pull the trigger on breaking them up. They create a new monster heel faction with MJF + FTR. They beat the living hell out of the Inner Circle who are now faces I guess.

We get one week of them giving great promos, one 6 man tag match or something, and then the Inner Circle gets their revenge in WEEK 3, to the point where they hospitalize someone, and MJF is given a swirlie and run through a vending machine... i.e. they already blew off all their heat and made the new faction look like chumps.

We then get that "great" Jericho promo, and they announce the blood + guts match. But this isn't enough, we have to add Mike Tyson because reasons.

And then they continue to get over on the members of the Pinnacle yet again...

They've just made the Pinnacle look like total chumps repeatedly, so why are we supposed to care about this matchup now?

I realize wrestling doesn't ALWAYS have to follow the usual tropes, but there is a reason sometimes why you have them. It's a tale as old as time... the heels get over on the baby faces repeatedly and continue to drag them down until you can't stand it anymore, and THEN they get their revenge.

By doing things this way, you never even gave the heels a chance to gain any traction for anyone to even care about the matchup, or even the team in general -and there is a shitload of talent there that SHOULD be pushed as great heels.

It's a goddamn tragedy how they have wasted MJF (and to a large extent, FTR as well - The Good Brothers, a damn Impact tag team get more spotlight than they do, wtf?)

I would expect team MJF to win at Blood and Guts.

This kid cuts promos better than 80% of the current roster.

What a mistake. Imagine being a wrestling company and **** up Samoa Joe of all people.

You have to feel bad for Chelsea Green. She was injured in her main roster debut, rehabbed, and then was injured in her re-debut. That's some bad luck. And she has to marry Zack Ryder. That poor girl.

I really don't get the Samoa Joe release, he was good on commentary and one of the best promos in the company. Mickey James also did some commentary for the Wrestlemania preshow matches, and I thought she did a good job calling the matches.

Rumor was Joe couldn't get cleared to wrestle, and he still wants to wrestle.

That could be interesting, assuming they don't try to just distill him to the same Cole clone they try to do with everyone else and make him speak in ways no one actually does.

Yeah I liked him but if that story is true it sounds like a Daniel Bryan situation where WWE wouldn't clear him to wrestle and he still thinks he can go. Maybe he has had second, third, fourth opinions stating that he would be cleared and WWE still wouldn't let him. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

Pretty much this. I would imagine they retained Bryan because he's a mega draw and letting him go elsewhere is a money thing. They probably don't think highly enough of Joe to retain him, but highly enough to not claim legal responsibility if he gets hurt.

Is this the biography show or the treasure hunt show?

I’m interested in the treasure show even though it’ll be on the same “reality” level as Pawn Stars. I have little interest in the biography show since it’ll have the WWE gloss over it. It feels like their answer to Dark Side of the Ring without the “dark.”

the biography show wasn't as WWEish as I thought it would be. No cliches, no "WWE Universe" phrasing, although HHH and Steph had more appearances than I thought they would. Well, maybe not HHH since he came up around the same time as Stone Cold.

But the treasures show had a very Pawn Stars vibe to it and almost didn't feel real at all.

The Wrestlemania Botchamania episode is out.

It amazes me how good Maffew and the team are at compiling all of this stuff.
