WWE would absolutely never sign off on a character like that. Good for him to getting to do what he wants, but the closest he'd ever get to that is Aliestar and they killed that pretty quickly.

Apparently the intermittent power outages during the show were also his idea to make people think maybe there were actually issues.

That was the first AEW show I made a point to watch live... that was really really good stuff. I forgot how much a good crowd can add to a show, but even beyond the crowd everything they did just made sense. Just fantastic stuff.

AEW has some great stories right now. Way more refreshing than anything WWE has thought of.

I caught the last hour of it and it was enjoyable listening to wrestlers who weren't droning on from a script, all while trying to push as many catchphrases and buzzwords into a promo.

I randomly looked up Finn Balor and learned they sent him back to NXT. Talk about a botch from wee. That guy has “it” and they somehow couldn’t make it work. His entrance was over, his promos were great, his in ring stuff was very good. The Demon was intriguing but got overused fast. Regardless he should have been right there with AJ styles and the rest.
Weird.
Weird.

They used him for that pride message, and dumped his ass to the curb.

So for the second straight PPV, I fell asleep during the Reigns match. Woke up in time to see the overbooked finish.
The Men's MITB match, however, was actually pretty entertaining... complete 180 from the farce that was last year's match. Unfortunately, the peacock stream fell apart during the entrances, so it started on a bit of a sour note.

Something to Wrestle is completely unlistenable. I know I posted a couple weeks ago but I really wanted to hear about Bret’s 1993 because that’s right about the time a young PB was introduced officially to wrasslin. There is a **** commercial every 4 mins. It’s awful, even fast forwarding them, it’s **** terrible.

Yeah, I think they're trying to push people to ad free shows or whatever. It's all of those podcasts. Gets old after awhile.

I'd have rather of seen Riddle win and Orton try and get the briefcase. This feel good stuff for Big E, Kofi - all feels like pandering at this point. So for the second straight PPV, I fell asleep during the Reigns match. Woke up in time to see the overbooked finish.

Perhaps. I didn't really have a dog in the fight though and was entertained throughout the match. They limited the "I could win but I'm not going for the ladder" type stuff. My main gripe was the obligatory "dive on the pile of wrestlers ready to catch you" spots, but those are just a part of modern wrestling so it is what it is.I'd have rather of seen Riddle win and Orton try and get the briefcase. I typically put these on in the background because hey, it's free, but this was one match I actually enjoyed for a change.

Yeah, I don't get why you have multiple wrestlers who are fighting against each other that suddenly come together and stop fighting to watch someone fly through the air.
It would almost be believable if it didn't happen every damn week.

I also have to say that while I still hate Cole spewing the same 8 phrases in every match, adding Pat McAfee was genius.
I missed it live but apparently at one point he commented that someone's eyes were "fluttering like Peacock".
Also when Cole was marking out and yelled "It's John Cena!" and McAfee yelled "Where?!"... Good stuff.

That is awesome. I'm so bitter about the network going to Peacock. WWE turned that into (imo) the best streaming service available. It was a content loaded well oiled machine. And NBC ruined it.

honestly, AEW or bust. He won't work in WWE anymore, and I can't see him dealing with it if he has choices.

I love me some Punk but he's old. Unless he is going there to put someone over or do a dream match against Omega or Mox...meh.

I'll believe it when I see him in the ring, throwing fake punches.
