Lissie was a fitting conclusion to a largely meh episode.

I thought that was a great episode as far as kinda getting some answers and moving the story along. Balanced perfectly with the last couple slower builds

I was somewhat distracted, so maybe I'll watch it a second time.

Yeah give it another shot, I definitely thought it was one of the best episodes of the season.

Maybe some spoilers of the last episode in here.

One of the most striking yet subtle uses of sound this season was in Episode 8 when the Woodsman descends from the sky into the desert, and when his feet touch the ground there’s a soft sound of footsteps. It grounds him in reality, so that he’s no longer this supernatural entity but is a physical presence. Do you think about things like that when you’re preparing the sound mix?

No, that was just the sound of his footsteps on the ground. [Laughs.]
I'm thinking I over think things while watching this show.

Outstanding. Audrey's Dance was moving and bittersweet and the end seemed to confirm what I (and others) suspected. She's not really ... there.

Dang, when the music hits right as he says that, I get a little giddy and maybe some dust in my eyes or something.

Sigh. Bad timing for that. I just don't have the mental energy to try to figure everything out right now.

I loved everything about the last 2 parts. I had nightmares and my brain still hurts and I can't stop thinking about what I watched.

Some thoughts in the finale
My first reaction after finishing was agent coopers journey is not over. After thinking about it, I guess you can also make the argument it's never really going to be over (ala the dark tower) which can be used as a placement for the series to be completely done.

I can't quite put everything together, but I got the sense that "Judy" or the negative energy got to laura palmer before coop did in the Texas reality world. I noticed the music playing on the radio during the sex scene was the same one from the crazy episode when the smoking woodsman visited the radio station. Is there something there with them taking Laura out of that world for coop to find Carrie page Laura palmer or is this just showing that he may have saved the laura from twin peaks, but in the end, her world is still darkness?

I also am glad that we didn't get a rehash of the the world we watched in the first 2 seasons, the way this was done with the characters was fresh and brilliant. I truly loved everything about this season and look forward to digesting everything.

Ultimately, MacLachlan is grateful for the opportunity to play this character again, and he's grateful for the fans for keeping the spirit of Twin Peaks alive. ("I think the fans played a big part of this," he says of the revival.) He feels like he's a part of something bigger, a piece of moving art that is ripe for interpretation and inspiration as much as it is entertaining. And, as always, he guides me to understanding how it falls within David Lynch's worldview, as well: "David tells me, 'Everything is Twin Peaks. It's all Twin Peaks,'" he says. "These stories continue—that's the whole thing. Everybody kept living and going on and doing their thing. It never stopped. Now we're picking it up again, 25 years later. Who knows if we'll pick them up again down the road, I don't know."

Before I'm even able to ask the final question—either because he knows it's coming, or simply because his answer is so obvious for him—he gives a sly smile when he responds.

"Would you do it again, down the road?"

"Oh, yes. In a minute."

yes please. One thing I've learned from David Lynch is that you don't have to worry about expectations. It's always going to be weird, exhilarating, terrifying, mysterious and keep you engaged.

The more I think about it, and I can't stop thinking about it ... it's rather a depressing ending, really. Some signs seem to point to Cooper still being stuck in a dream or that other world or whatever ... the non-response to being served coffee in that diner and also Laura doing that thing with her eyes that she used to do in the red room. Plus Audrey's sad sad story ...

I too haven't been able to stop thinking and reading about it. I completely agree that it's quite depressing, but I also think that it's a perfect and brilliant lynch ending. I also think he's not done with this series. He was quoted in the past saying he had plans for the original to never really end and has recently expressed that he's done with movies. I know it didn't do amazing with ratings, but I think it's going to have some serious contention with awards season. It was truly one of the most incredible experiences in television I've ever had and I think down the road a lot of people (including Showtime) are going to realize that they have something completely special that's never been done before. I almost started watching it again, but need some more time to digest. The final dossier book coming out next month will be a doozy and I hope that doesn't have an affect on future seasons...

I keep thinking about those last 2 episodes and saw someone say they like to see it as ep 17 as the finale and 18 as start of season 4
