An off season of turmoil in Friartown ends tonight. Going to be interesting to see how the new look Friars stack up in the Big East. Kim English got most of the core to stay and was able to keep some of his better players from VCU, while also keeping at least one high profile Cooley recruit in Garwey Dual.

Of course we have some school meeting at game time.

LFG!

MIZ lands in Providence tonight, huh? I still can't believe English is old enough to be a head coach. I had already had two kids by the time he lifted Mizzou's going away present from the Big 12.

Yep, he’s still got it, too. Beat a PG in a game of one on one to get him to take his name back out of the transfer portal :D

And JMU takes care of business in OT.

Zips walk into a hornet's nest in South Dakota and takes down the Bunnies. That's a good non-conference get.

Quakers top Villanova at the palestra.

Btw the palestra might be one of the low key coolest sports venues in the United States of America

Yeah, it's great, especially if you get a Big Five battle going and the place is packed. My dad graduated from Temple and always spins yarns about the good old days of basketball there in the 60s. I've been to 4 games there and I'd go back there much more if I could. History just oozes out of the floorboards there.

Friars absolutely destroyed Wisconsin tonight. Very pleased with the team English has put together in their first real test.

I couldn't bring myself to bet the Friars tonight because I hadn't seen any of the Wisky-Tennessee game on Friday (damn Paycock). Got home from my game and saw that score and was like, 'wow'.

It’s a very short trip in the Portal era from the B1G Championship game and Round of 32 to losing to Bucknell at home by 9. That’s the good old PSU hoops we barely think about.

I had MIchigan +2 1/2 and Penn -1 yesterday both get whacked by buzzer beating 3's with LaSalle's coming from just inside halfcourt. That was fun to watch.

Good article on Cliff Ellis' retirement. He was at Clemson when I was a student, now he retires from where I work! Full circle (for me) n'at.

(It's a gift article)
