Clifford was a horrendous movie, but I watched it like 50 times one summer when I was about 8 years old

I woke up to a text this morning that my friend/colleague's husband passed away last night from a massive heart attack. Dude seemed like a great guy from the couple times I've met him and talking to her... He was older (early 50s), but this is the first time someone I'm close to and in my age group has lost a spouse. She has an 8 year old son at home who slept through everything last night and is completely unaware. If you are the praying type, could you please?

This one is really hitting me on multiple levels. RIP Jeff.
I'm in the "divorces" phase of new disruptive life events for friends. "terminal cancer and other chaotic death" hasn't been introduced to my peer group, but it's only a matter of time.

this is terrible. poor kid.

I hear ya man... It's crazy to see friends from high school getting divorced. My stepsister, who is 30, has been divorced twice already :face:

I had no idea he (Grodin) was 86. He seemed like one of those guys that was perpetually in his 60s.

"It means I can't fly."

"It means 'hello'. I can say 'hello' in a lot of different languages. Not yours, but a lot of them."

"You know I could set you up with lyonnaise potatoes for the rest of your life."

That one movie alone, man..... :(

What a spectacularly dry-witted a-hole. Rest in Peace.
My favorite Carson appearance.

Yes he was. He was also pretty racist and likely a child molester (Richard Pryor's son). Good riddance.

I don’t know anything about all that, but I thought his Chappelle show bits were softballs slowly lobbed his way that he ended up whiffing on.

The story (which has been corroborated by Pryor's widow) is pretty wild. Pryor wanted to put a million dollar hit on Mooney after he found out that Mooney took advantage of his young son. Messed up.

he was funny on Chappelle's Show but I listened to some of his standup and...it's bad. Definitely "I genuinely hate white people" tier

is it though? reads as a first draft of a joke, if we're talking about a professional funny person.

The Pryor stuff is sad. I hadn’t heard of it before and I’m betting most people who know of Mooney aren’t aware of it.
