Blue jeans in particular. Do you wear them and what brand at what cost?

I've always bought Levi's but over the last number of years their quality has gone to crap. Crotch blowouts after 2 or 3 months usually. They feel very thin these days and get thinner by the washing. On reddit I found a thread discussing their various lines that they have and it goes from outlet store quality for $35 to $50 to the selvage ones that that are $135+. The cheap ones have the orange Levi's path and the selvage ones have a black patch and there are a few lines in between. I found a pair of the selvage ones on their website half off for $68 so we'll see what they are like when they get here. I'm expecting stiff.

@tifosi77 may know something about this subject.

Improbable though it may seem, I actually know very little about crotch blowouts.

(I'm also a pretty devoted Levi's guy when it comes to jeans. 514 style number, I think 5 or 6 pair, different..... finishes? I generally just buy directly from a Levi's store. Which, I just learned a couple months ago, if you take damaged genuine Levi's into a store, they have on-site tailoring and can make basic repairs to tears and certain wear failures.)

I am a jean wearer. If I am wearing pants, they are jeans. Levis are the only ones I can find in my size with multiple cut options without having to shop around.

I buy some off brand from Boscov’s. I so seldom wear anything but shorts and sweatpants anymore, and khakis on the rare occasions I have to work in person, that they last forever.

I have gotten more into different colored jeans lately. I have a pair of beige/gray jeans that go with a lot of things.

I don't see any reason to buy name-brand jeans. I figure they're all probably sewn together by the same toddlers in China or Cambodia or Bangladesh anyway.

I think it was King Size Direct. Either that or DXL. One of those.

I share the same view of fat-guy stores as the late, great Ralphie May:

I don't wear jeans more than two or three times a year. I don't find them very comfortable or stylish. That goes for denim in general. Just not a good material for me. I had a very lightweight denim used to custom make a white button fly bellbottom like three or four years ago...but that's about it. I do own a number of pairs of jeans, but it's a distinct rarity that they're broken out...

I've got a pair of the lulu ABC pants. They look great and they are comfortable. And you are right you can wear them almost anywhere.

I also have two pairs of wrangler pants of a similar style that were a fraction of the price but almost as nice as the lulus.

Levi 541's only.

Same. Quads/thighs are too big for anything skinnier. Can't fit into my 514s anymore.

High and tight is the only correct way to wear jeans.
