I think I've been to one of his restaurants in Augusta maybe? Does he do the mustard covered bbq?We had a BBQ “baron” who was an unrepentant racist, handing out KKK literature at his restaurants throughout the state well into the 2000’s. Maurice Bessinger was a piece of work. The issue was his brothers were also BBQ restaurant owners and were largely disgusted with their brother’s views, but their businesses struggled because of the shared name. (His brother Melvin, probably my favorite of the three restaurants, was a Citadel graduate and jumped into Normandy with the 82nd Airborne).

I think this video from that account is better:

I posted this before but the local health food shop/coffee shop put this nonsense on their website
https://www.healthhutstores.com/covidvaccineinfo
If the bible verses don't convince you, the aborted fetal tissue misinformation might.
Regrettably Dunkin's espresso machine was down the other day and I gave them some business for the first time in months. I did have a free one with a punch card from the before times.
Seriously don't understand why any business owner would be obnoxious about their political beliefs. Unless they don't really need the business.

I'm gonna use the rudderless vlb trope from the political thread here...We had a BBQ “baron” who was an unrepentant racist, handing out KKK literature at his restaurants throughout the state well into the 2000’s. Maurice Bessinger was a piece of work. The issue was his brothers were also BBQ restaurant owners and were largely disgusted with their brother’s views, but their businesses struggled because of the shared name. "I WAS TOLD" that if there's a racist business owner, they'll do well because all of the racists will go there to support their racist friend(s)...

I didn't want to clutter up the Political thread with this, but Lego just announced a 9000+ piece Titanic set. $600+ but look at the detail on it:

Back in my day, legos weren't 3D puzzles, you just got to build what you wanted out of them without step-by-step instructions...

Yup. Low-res model kits. Pretty amazing how they have duped everyone.
Imagine if Revell tried this.

That Titanic is assembled in sections, so it will be able to be broken in half or so, just like the original. *Iceberg sold separately

I love Legos, but man, nothing was better than building cars and planes from Revell, AMT, etc. I had so many of them at one point.

There's a LEGO store in the mall near me, and I admit some of the bigger sets are pretty kewl.

You also have to figure in the people like me, who will shop at places with the best products, quality, prices, convenience, regardless of whether or not the owner attacks my beliefs.Found out today that a local diner that we enjoy, but haven’t been to in a while, is owned by a big anti-masker/anti-vax/conspiracy theorist nut job. He sells anti-Fauci stuff at the counter, has signs all over, and apparently brings it up in conversations with patrons.
How to lose somebody’s business in a few easy steps. A shame, because their food was decent.
I don't know why a business owner would want to intentionally piss off so many potential customers. And there are plenty of examples of this from both sides. In the run-up to the 2016 election the owner of Penzey's Spices came out as massively anti-Trump and pro-progressive and was constantly putting political rants in the company's email newsletters about how anyone who voted Trump or Republican was evil. His sister owns the competing The Spice House company, and tons of customers (me included) switched over just because of Bill Penzey being so rude and hostile. I generally don't care what political leanings a business owner has, but I'm not going to support someone who goes out of his or her way to attack their own customers, regardless of which side they're attacking. Just keep your stupid mouth shut. That goes equally for the MyPillow idiot, Ben & Jerry's, and every other company that decides to get political. Just. Shut. Up.
