What do yinz get/ask for on father's day? My wife asked me what I wanted a week or two ago and I pretty much said "nothing". I was given a pretty strong hint that it wasn't an acceptable answer so I said a bottle of scotch.
Honestly, what I would really want is just an afternoon to do nothing. Maybe go play a round of golf, maybe work on something undisturbed in the garage, maybe just lounge and read a book, but I don't feel those would be acceptable either...

I asked for a second PC screen simply because I couldn't think of anything else. I'd settle for just a relaxing day.

I'm a big fan of just always responding with "nothing." It's annoying because it's not like Mother's Day. We as father's don't get near the same respect when it comes to the holiday itself lol. What do yinz get/ask for on father's day? I always ask for nothing. I make a prime rib on Father's Day, so really, I give myself a gift.

Yea I'm smoking a pork butt through the night for a get-together on Sunday, so I guess that's good enough for me.

Yesterday my son's BFF came over around 2. They went to a park down the street, played some Legos, then I took them to a bigger park up the road. Had to have his friend back home by 5 because he had his last baseball game of the season at 545. When I dropped him off the dad asked if pfidc Jr wanted to come. Then, during band practice, I got a text asking if it was ok if he slept over. I brought him jammies, clothes , toothbrush, sleeping bag, etc. after band practice and 2 other kids had joined the sleepover out back in a tent.
Got me thinking. What a fantastic summer day for these kids. Just a random Wednesday turned into a spontaneous hang out turned into sleepover turned into slumber party. I felt so happy for them. Those are the days you remember when you're 40.

Man, I'm glad that story never took a poor turn...I was getting a little concerned because we only read bad news...glad it was awesome, I remember getting swept into just "right place, right time" summer days as a kid...and even sometimes as an adult haha

We got 30+ inches of snow the night of my birthday party, which turned into a sleepover with all of my friends... for two days. That was awesome.

I remember getting stranded at my friend's house for three days during a particularly nasty blizzard in high school. I probably could have made it home back up the mountain on the second day, but we were having too much fun binge watching Bond movies, as it coincided with one of the TBS or Spike marathons.

my lifetime subscription on my SiriusXM boombox just quit on me.
I can't get Sirius to fix it because I'm not the original owner of the unit. I have to add it to my car subscriptions which are $6 per month. small price to pay considering it's my office radio and I listen to it 10 hours day/4 days a week,

I love Waffle House and could be out of there at least 8 hours early.

If you ate one an hour you could be out of there in 12. I think blackjack's estimate is more feasible.

I've never been to a Waffle House, but i do not doubt my ability to get out of there in like 40 minutes on those terms.

I'm fully aware that in general, the touristy areas of Mexico are safe. That said.... No desire to go.I’ll just leave this right here.

Jet ski drive-by is one hell of a story, though.
