It just keeps going!I have no idea how you found this, but I hate that you made me discover whatever this ishttps://www.theamericanconservative.com ... l-hungary/
Blues clues means a lot to some people
I shared a taxi back to the Pest side with an American graduate student studying here. He’s a Christian who reads this blog. He said he saw the Blue’s Clues segment with the drag queen singing about the Pride parade including the beaver family with the trans member sporting mastectomy scars. “That show meant a lot to me as a kid,” he said. “It started the year I was born. It was a big part of my childhood. Now … .” His voice faded off.
If you told me it was a South Park parody I would believe you.

Today is the day everyone suddenly becomes a patriot and acts like they care about this country.

In some ways it seems like the blink of an eye. It is seared into my mind like it was yesterday.
In others, it seems like a lifetime ago. I had one one year old. Now my kids are 21,18, and 14. I had just moved into the house where I am sitting right now, but it's radically remodeled. I was in the last year of my time at Marconi Communications, the failing remains of FORE Systems. The following May I'd leave to start with my current employer.
We were in a meeting with a subcontractor, who cut the meeting short, must have been shortly after 9:00 AM, and said hey something's going on in New York, we need to figure out what's going on. We all went to the cafeteria and watched events unfold on the big screens there.
I've been to the NY memorials but man that Flight 93 memorial... I was there with my kids several years ago and just being there in the quiet with your thoughts... that's when it really hit me hard. Just trying to explain to them what happened that day and how it affected us.... It was cathartic in a way.

I was working in a high rise in downtown Philly, and after the second plane hit, we all split. Nobody knew what the hell was going on, but we knew we didn’t want to be there at the time. I regret watching videos of what happened later, because that **** - especially the people jumping out of the buildings - is permanently seared into my brain. And then the later discovered footage of the second plane hit. Just awful.

Slept in until like 9:30 or 10. Because college. Walked to the student union and everyone I passed looked upset. I thought some of my friends in the dorm hall were mad at me for bailing on a dinner thing the night before. Also had a new GF who I was working on for 2 years, and her dad got deployed to an unknown base that week. She used me as sort of an outlet for her anxiety, in a not unenjoyable way.
My 9/11 story isn’t particularly poignant, id say. But at college a thousand miles away from the action, I can’t say there was a lot of genuine heartbreak. Just a lot of preening from kids who didn’t understand things yet.

I had signed up for the Coast Guard three months prior. We arrived into the harbor from New London on 9/13. I'll never forget the smoke that was still coming up.
Actually flew through JFK at Thanksgiving. I remember the bright light they had set up and you could see it clearly on takeoff and approach.

8th grade going from Spanish to Geometry and my geometry teacher was frantic outside the classroom. He pulled us in and turned the TV on despite being told not to. I'm fortunate to have visited the WTC 17 days prior because I'm not sure I'd have understood the impact otherwise

The footage of people jumping as it was happening haunts me to this day. It’s what angers and saddens me at the same time.I was working in a high rise in downtown Philly, and after the second plane hit, we all split.
