There's been a shift in my attitude towards Amazon over the last 5 or so years. We still do an awful lot of shopping through the site and watch Prime content all the time, but Bezos has emerged as a generational dickwad.

Disruptors are needed to progress society, I'm cool with that. We don't grow without people who think laterally to advance forward. But to me, Bezos is on a completely different level of asshat than someone like Musk. Bezos is to Edison, as Musk is to - er - Tesla.
Musk is a giant asswad fraud.

Bezos, Gates and Zuck are in the same mold. Were first out the gate, then just became the coca cola for internet crap.

Amazon needs a new competitor, for sure.
Ok I'll do it. It's going to cost about $20 more and take a little longer, but if I give everyone my Venmo, just tell me what they want and I'll get it delivered to you eventually.
 Eddyzon Prime.
Might be my new band name or what I'd call myself if I was a dinosaur

The kangaroo shares a lot of similar sentiments on amazon.

The kangaroo's gf have given two gifts within the past few years that pretty much sum up the amazon experience. They are both good products that work as advertised. One is a car vaccum and the other is a massage gun. Both had lots of good reviews. Both are blatant Chinese ripoffs with instructions that were clearly written by someone with a rough idea of how to use the English language. Both have customer service accounts that aren't like customerservice@carvaccum.com. Instead the customer service accounts are gmail addresses. Nothing more reputable than a product that has a gmail customer service account.

I do take some offense to including Musk in the conversation. What Bezos and Branson are doing with manned flights is purely a tourist attraction. Neither of their vehicles is capable of getting anywhere near orbital velocity, and neither really has any significant options for scientific use. They're basically just really fancy and expensive roller coasters for millionaires and billionaires to buy rides.

Musk, on the other hand, has a company that actually puts stuff into orbit and beyond, including scientific payloads for NASA like the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and literally dozens of resupply missions to the ISS. And yesterday SpaceX did the first static fire (using three engines) of the Super Heavy booster, which will become the most powerful rocket ever built and will eventually have around 30 engines.

I refuse to use the new moniker and will continue to call it the BFR.

I certainly agree that "Super Heavy" is a goofy name. They really need to come up with something better.

Burglary suspect captured in La Verne after leading authorities on pursuit in car stolen from Fairfax District: Police
A driver was taken into custody in La Verne after leading law enforcement on a multi-county pursuit in a vehicle that was stolen in the Fairfax District Wednesday morning, police said.

The incident began just after 7:30 a.m., when the car was taken during a burglary in the 600 block of North Sierra Bonita, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee. Other property was also stolen during the incident, he said without elaborating on what or how many items.
Now, a 160-mph freeway chase would normally merit sharing on its own. But what makes this an even bigger head turner is this:

Would-be victim shoots 2 men during ‘brazen’ robbery attempt in Fairfax district; suspects arrested
Two men attempting to rob a person in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles this week were shot during the incident, police said Tuesday.

The incident unfolded about 7:10 p.m. Monday near Melrose Avenue and Vista Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Two women and a man were chatting in the area when a Dodge Avenger reversed and stopped near where the group was gathered, video released by the LAPD shows.
600 North Sierra Bonita is no more than about 3 blocks away from Melrose and Vista, and the shooting happened only about 20 minutes before the car was stolen.
