Kemp is too busy not-so-subtly threatening teenagers with rifles.
NJ signed it last October. Enjoyed my day off today.

That's a shotgun.

I was talking to an older woman at our church who had said she's a big Pens fan. As it turns out, her granddaughter is marrying Steve Mears next summer!

Make sure you have plenty of stats.

A rifle has a rifled barrel (spiral grooves running down the length of the bore) in order to stabilize the bullets it fires, which are loaded into the gun into the form of cartridges. The bullet digs into the grooves and is "spun up" as it goes down the barrel, so that the bullet is gyroscopically stabilized in flight. That makes rifles suitable for precise, long-range shots.
A shotgun has a smoothbore barrel (no rifling) and fires shot (little round pellets of lead, steel, tungsten, or bismuth), which is loaded into the gun in the form of shells. Each shell carries multiple pellets of shot, which range in widely in size; big pellets are used on larger game, and small pellets are used on small game. Because the barrel imparts no stabilization to the pellets, they spread out relatively rapidly after leaving the barrel. The level of spread can be controlled by devices called chokes. Shotguns are most suitable for short-range shots and shots on moving targets, such as birds in flight or running rabbits. Shotguns are also used for the clay-target sports of trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

Both are boom boom sticks and it wouldn’t matter which he was holding in that. They would convey the same message, although for whatever reason, the traditional “you best take good care of my daughter” weapon of choice is the shotgun. You’re good, shoeshine boy.

"Long gun".

I appreciate both explanations.A rifle has a rifled barrel (spiral grooves running down the length of the bore) in order to stabilize the bullets it fires, which are loaded into the gun into the form of cartridges. The bullet digs into the grooves and is "spun up" as it goes down the barrel, so that the bullet is gyroscopically stabilized in flight. That makes rifles suitable for precise, long-range shots.
