I love waking up early on the weekends (6 or so). I know I have at least an hour, almsot two if lucky, until my daughter wakes up. I just quietly sit down in my office, play WoW, and sip some coffee. I've been trying to start doing the same, even on weekdays where I would wake up at 5.

I've found that I am way less tired on the days that I do that throughout the day. Of course, whether an 11-5 sleep schedule could be maintained long term remains to be seen.

I am now starting Justin Cronin's "The Passage". @eddysnake, if you haven't read it, from the description it seems like it would be in your wheelhouse. I will let you know.

Also reading the McCullough Johnstown Flood book, based on @DigitalGypsy66 's recommendation. Really like the McCullough book so far.

It can be pretty horrendous but I've never met anyone with it that didnt feel immense relief with certain lifestyle/diet changes

It runs in my family. My mom has UC, my grandma has UC, 4 of my cousins have crohns.
People with Crohns, UC or IBS who avoid weed out of ideological concerns are doing themselves a great disservice.

Legal reasons or just generally not liking it...that's a pickle. But if there's a "I don't because it's wrong" approach...that's sad.

Ahh.... some people just shouldn't smoke.

Some people are just too fragile to handle a bad high

So I went to a company wide sales meeting this week. I met people from all over the country.

I think I fell in love with my company. I guess I drank a bit of the kool aid (jk they had Starbucks and I was like a sponge.)

I know eventually I might move on one day (maybe not who knows) but I was so surprised at how inclusive everyone was.

I just kept thinking, is this what loving your job and company feels like? It feels great. I've never had this feeling in like the 7 years I've been in the full time post college job market.

And I hate to be like. ..full of it. .but I did tell Kaiser less than two years ago I was working at a coffee shop. Now I'm the only woman to be in my position at our company (there is also a woman VP and in C-Suite (a term I've been over using bc i like the sound of it)) and I get paid above market rate though it's an entry level position. And everyday I learn something.

We were in a city where Budweiser has its factory so we took a tour. Drunk by 11:30 with your coworkers and C-Suite..not too shabby. Also I got to hang out in the Admiral's club at the airport. And during the day we went to classes, a few of which were interesting... very interesting.

I just really missed Kaiser. The first night I got drunk. I ended up staying awake for 24 hours, much of the latter part of that was drinking. The next night I took it easy. My mother reminded me that I had just gotten over pneumonia. (I was all won't the alcohol just kill the germs). I told my boss I was going to sleep. I showered. I ended up calling Kaiser and we ended up talking for hours. So ordered room service, Gilmore Girls was on etc. I ended up doing some work and when I looked at the clock it was 1 am.

It wasn't until the third day that I began to sober up. We went to a hockey game etc etc. And we went out for that city's most famous food at their most famous restaurant. Omg. Every time I got hungry after that my mind immediately wandered to that place.
It was ribs. The best I've ever had so far though I haven't had much in the regions known for making ribs.

Anyway. Now I'm like 2 weeks behind bc of this trip and pneumonia. ..well. ..maybe like 1.25 weeks behind.

I've read that it's not ideal and that adults are supposed to sleep 7-9 hours a night.
http://lifehacker.com/the-ideal-amount- ... 1683344371

I usually sleep 12-6 with the occasional post-work crash like once every 4-6 weeks. If I sleep any more, I feel run down throughout the day. On the far end of their recommendation, 9 hours of sleep seems insane unless I'm coming back from a long trip or worked a long week. Even then, I'm sure I'd be telling myself "can't believe I slept nine hours."

Last night was just a freakish thing. Even on non-work nights, I may stay up until 1 at the latest. The last time I checked time, it was 515. Since I knew my schedule was already gonna be messed up, I was seeing if I could make it to sunrise or even make it 24 hrs, which would have been around 545. I failed on both accounts.

Even with the late night, I was up before 10:30, which means barely over five hours of sleep.

My wee girl is teething and with Mrs P being very pregnant, I'm averaging about 5 hours a night just now. Strangely, I seem to be coping ok, despite working long hours too.

That's a very bare-bones transcript.

I think they're talking about it in reference to the self-officiating aspect? (Can't listen)

We have a Junior College in town and my wife somehow ended up with free season pass to all their sporting events. This winter we've been attending all the women's basketball games since they start at 5:30pm and are over well before bedtime on a school night.

All of my kids are now big basketball fans to the degree I caught my kids watching NBA games last weekend.

That's what it sounds like after reading the article. Poor woman, horrible way to die. Slowly and painfully.

That is objectively stupid. I hope when they do find that special someone, that person is riddled with herpes.

It usually takes 2-3 days to settle in. Flying back east is going to be worse, tho.

Yup, I was up at 5AM today but forced myself to lay there to try and get used to it. I fly home Friday so I expect the weekend to be lost.
