Lil mac and I had tickets to the Bucco game tonight. Thought I'd save a few bucks and park at First Ave and ride the T over. For anyone who casually rides the T in instances like this only, please learn from my mistake and absolutely do not do this.

Err, I think the T is currently closed between Wood and Steel Plaza, which I would imagine is the basis of your warning.

It was closed somewhere between the stadium and the station before you go up to Mount Washington last summer when we were there. Same place?

Mac that is a real bummer. Sorry you had to deal with that, especially with a kid. That section of the t is supposed to reopen on may 31

I don't know why my brain thought it would only affect those trying to get from that one station to the other. As if there was some bypass that I'd be able to take. It took me an hour to get from the game to the first ave garage. Needless to say Lil mac was introduced to the smell of Mary Jane and several homeless folks  at least dad saved $16ish on parking.

Pro tip: nova place has $15 parking on game days and is a short walk. Good compromise between stadium parking prices and convenience.

Also, the third avenue garage is a good choice and only $6

Warhol garage is cheap too unless they've raised the rates

We went to bucos game on Saturday, parked in stage ae gold lot $20. One of the most uneventful boring games I e ever attended, but there's something about sitting in that park and watching it and I can't wait to do it again

Yeah, that was my plan B. And when they made me get off the T at steel Plaza to board a bus, I should've walked right over to an outbound train, got on and went back to the car. Live and learn.

That's my take on it too. I've never followed baseball or the pirates, but going to a game is always fun.

I tend to get Pirates tickets on the cheap so I'll just pay the North Shore parking prices. They're fairly reasonable and can't beat the convenience. Steelers games are a different animal. I'm not paying $50+ for parking. In those cases, I'll park in a cheap garage downtown and walk. I've had good look with a garage on Stanwix st, which is typically about $5 and about a 20 minute walk to the stadium. This is also where I parked for T. Swift.

Our seats were left field foul line. I like to park on that side of the park if we sit over there and usually try to get first base side for ease anyway (these seats were also free from TeeBall)

I like to walk after events. And I'll put a priority on not waiting in traffic. So the 14th Street garage on Penn will do.

Everytime I home within an hour. The amount of times people told me how long it took them to leave a closer lot has left me feeling vindicated that this my path forward until i cant anymore. And at that point, i am probably not going to events any longer

To be very clear, I haven’t seen the final out in a Pirates game in years. I’m usually out of there after the 8th.

I mean, i am mostly saying this about Heinz Field. PNC Park I just genuinely enjoy walking across the bridges and going on the walk during the summer.

Sorry, no. Bit of drift on that one. That's where I park for Pens games and cultural district stuff. For Pirates games I usually park at Sixth and Penn.

My confusion was more of dodint attending pirate games and not the location

There's never a bad day at the ballpark, right?

Last time I went was when my friends were in from out of town. My wife caught a foul ball but gave it to the usher.

We used to get free tickets at work but I think they stopped giving them to us because nobody was taking them.

Wow. I checked that was May 31st, 2019. Brewers at Pirates, and the Pirates won 9-4.

Chris Archer got the win and Felipe Vazquez closed it out. Marte when 3/5 and stole a base.

I probably should have went on Saturday.

I was very close to calling an Uber and just shoving Lil mac in the middle (he still uses a booster seat). Then the bus shuttle showed up at Penn station. Took us to steel Plaza where we sat for 15 minutes near two guys who smelled as if their last shower was during spring training. If I was solo, I'd have walked.
