The real question is whether use wake up to radio or that awful buzzing noise.

2nd time in 3 days my alarm app has failed to sound an alarm despite the screen showing a snooze or turn off option.

Anyone got a good recommendation for alarm apps for Android? I was using the system clock previously before I ran into the same issue, and have been using Early Bird Alarm Clock since then. I don't know if it's updating and resetting overnight or what, but it's really annoying.
I use AlarmDroid. Works fine for me.

When Seven Nation Army was released, they played it on KROQ every morning at around the same time as my radio alarm clock went off. And because I sleep deepest in the mornings, I tended to sleep through the first song or two and that bass riff was sort of absorbed by my subconscious, and I went weeks without hearing the full song in an awake state. But I had that bass riff stuck in my head, and had no idea where it was from. I felt like I was going crazy...... dumm-dumdumdumdum dummmm-dummmmm

Given my screwed up sleep schedule, for those occasions when I absolutely, positively, have to wake up at a certain time, I bought an alarm clock from a company called Sonic Alert called the "Sonic Boom" that's designed for the hearing impaired. It not only has a really loud beep, but it has a "bed shaker" thingy that goes under the mattress and shakes the whole bed. It also has a plug in the back so that it can turn a light on or flash a light on and off.

I see they also have a newer model called the "Sonic Bomb" that has strobe lights built in.

Note: if you have cats that like to sleep on your bed, they will not like the Sonic Boom / Bomb.

Possibly a rhetorical Q: Was the prize at stake in the..... *checks post*................... 'tree-throwing contest' worth more or less than $800k?

I’m gonna guess it was substantially less.

Browsing one of the 3D printing sites for some ideas and I stumble upon this solid platinum design:

You could have the 2Pactopus, the Manta Dre, and the Sea Eminemone. And Snoop could narrate. :D

Throw in a new rice cooker with it and I’ll start listening… 100lbs of rice, that’s like what, 20 years worth of meals?

Hey, the Cross Hybrid made my spreadsheet of possibilities - the rice would just be a bonus!

IIRC, there are large Hmong communities in Minnesota, and Google says the line under those guys names ("Kuv Hais Lus Hmoob") translates to "I speak [the White Hmong dialect of Hmong]."

Yeah those kinds of incentives aren't out of the ordinary in communities that cater to certain demographics. One place it's free rice, others it's a free gun rack, sometimes it's a wad of scratchy lotteries.

He'd seal the deal if he refuses to refer to himself as a realTOR, and instead goes by something like 'crib pusher'.
