I’ll be honest…probably wouldn’t have watched this game if it was any other team but Iowa. Clark makes it a great watch

It's ironic that Iowa won this game with an offensive rebound. No other word to describe that performance by Clark but 'incredible'. And they get to try to figure it out in 39 hours against LSU, a team that can shoot a hell of a lot better than SC does and has just as much height.

It's also amazing to see what happens when a team like SC who was hardly tested all year gets into a tight game late in a big spot. 6 years ago, UCONN had that monster winning streak and they got into a tight one and made bad decision after bad decision and Miss State beat them at the buzzer. SC's final gasp with Boston being the one to hoist the 3 off the inbounds was one of the more mystifying plays late in a game that I've seen.

Alright, Saturday's men's games. No time to really do write-ups like I did for last weekend's stuff so here are the picks:

Game 1 -- Taking San Diego State money line. If the number comes back down to 2, then I'll probably take that as well. I still say that defense travels and the Aztecs have gotten through these last 2 wins without any sort of offensive contribution from their best scorer, Matt Bradley. Gotta think he comes out with a vengeance in the semifinal. FAU may not be able to get to the basket as easily as they did against K State and Tennessee.

Game 2 -- Taking UCONN money line. I hate this number because I can make the case for both teams with that 5 1/2 number. I'm much more confident in over 149 as Miami is not afraid to get into a track meet with you. In normal circumstances, that should lead me to take those points. But UCONN has had a third and fourth gear in the 2nd half of their 4 NCAA Tournament games. They've outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 in the 2nd half during this Tournament. So that's what would scare me about taking the points. The big question mark is UCONN sharpshooter Jordan Hawkins, who sat out Friday's practice with a non-COVID illness. We'll see how that affects him against an athletic Miami squad.

So weird. I am actually sad about the Gamecocks loss. I am a Clemson alum, and loathe anything and everything about SCar, but this one hurt. I don't like it.

Clark had 41 points...scary.

FAU getting any shot they went thus far. Aztecs defense not as suffocating when the ball moves as much as the Owls move it.

Since this is a hockey forum…. The ice is tilted right now. FAU hasn’t touched the ball in 3 mins.

This game seems very ref-ball... I can't remember the last stretch of 2+ minutes without a foul call

Gonna have that with 2 physical defenses.

If Aztecs could make free throws, they’d be up 5-6.

If they could squeeze in a few more commercials that would be swell.

I yelled “take the damn shot” as he was dribbling himself in the corner. That is tremendous awareness to get the shot off at that point

Haha. Yeah we’ll probably lose by 20. Could get ugly if we don’t hit from outside. I have an emotional hedge in place with a SDSU + UCONN parlay.

I feel so bad for FAU cuz they deserved that game more that SDSU did. Just got beat by a tough shot.
