What I'd like to have explained is why the hell can't they play Thursday-Friday in a 36-hole deal. Nationals at Grayhawk don't start until the 21st.

I’m not one to spread rumors but there is one out there that he’s got something personal going on that is really messing with his head and thus, his golf game as well.

Yeah, it was a total shooting gallery out there today. You make a bogey, you're giving 2 back to the field. Cut could easily end up being -7 or -8 because conditions are going to be the same tomorrow. Also helped that they were playing lift, clean, and cheat because of all the rain Monday and Tuesday. The players all say the course is long but when it's so soft with no wind, there's no defense and from what I've gathered in my observation of the course today, there's no real quirks to it and if you're hitting it accurately, you can kill a number.

Trinity Forest was way better if they would have let it play tougher imo

How does such a vanilla course get a tour event
It's been the perfect storm of conditions, at least today. The greens and fairways are perfect. It rained a bunch Monday-Tuesday so everything is soft. The course tips out at 7500 yards but it's pretty generous as far as driving areas. It's a Weiskopf course (similar to TPC Scottsdale) so there really isn't that much danger around. The biggest thing to go with those soft conditions is that there's no wind. So when you have all of that, the leaderboard is gonna get decimated.

Also, it's a TPC course that the Tour has used for Korn Ferry Tour Championships in the past as well as 2nd stage of Q School. So it's a favorite of the Tour and players weren't all that enthused about Trinity Forest.

Spieth's post-round comments. Excuse the dope asking most of the questions (in case some of you ever wondered what type of things I do for my job).

A little bit of wind out here this morning so the Golden Tee numbers likely won’t appear.

Plenty of guys posting low numbers, but Spieth isn't one of them. Only -1 through 15, after posting -9 yesterday. You are an enigma, Jordan.

Kyoung-Hoon Lee looks good...forgot he finished 2nd at the WM Open.

Barstool has its faults but this is cool. Putting on a tournament for the teams that didn't get to play that NCAA regional

Say what you want about Barstool, but they have their pulse on the world. This reminds me of their small business program from last year.

Finally played 18 today. Shot a 121. Fantastic amount of room for improvement. I thought the wheels fell off on the back half but my split was 60/61 so maybe I was just feeling it from the sun. Really pretty day, at least.

Was nice playing with a patient group. ;) The round lasted over 5 hours and I don't think our group was the hold-up, even with me futzing around.

A lot of work to be done in all parts of the game. I was just encouraged that I never got to 10+ on a hole.

I'm 'dodint' on Grint. I don't know if there is a social component or not, but if there is you can add me.

I'm taking in 9 at Glengarry on Monday evening, and then I'll get 18 in on a course down in Little Rock, AR the following Monday. Should be a sufficient amount of reps before that first competition on Memorial Day Sunday.

I've always said, you can be a 100+ golfer and still play ready golf and keep a decent pace. The worst are the 100+ golfers that have the ridiculous preshot routines, that spend 3 minutes reading yardage, etc.

Manolo just gave an important pace of play lesson.
