Kind of an a$$hole thing to say by Kelly, to be honest, because it's kind of insinuating that the Pitt football players who opted out just don't like playing football, I guess?

Look, it's frustrating for fans & I'm sure Duzz would rather have everyone playing that is healthy, but some of these players have opportunities to make life-changing money in a few months. If I was in their shoes, I'm not sure I'd risk that to play in a mid-afternoon Dec 30 bowl game.

Does UCLA have any NFL prospects?

He's a NTP66 nugget to play for so I doubt this is a flex on the loyalty he's garnered. I'm sure for non-NFL bound seniors this last bowl game is exciting.

I'm probably reading too much into it. When I first read the quote, the initial impression I got was that it was delivered with this sort of snarky "well, OUR players aren't opting out," or "OUR players put their team first" tone to it.

For UCLA, Charbonnet will almost certainly get some looks as an NFL RB. He's pretty good. Dorian Thompson-Robinson's not really an NFL-caliber QB, but he's a pretty dynamic college QB.
