Before it was just a scratchy throat, and we thought it was allergies, which she does have. Today it's apparently a bad sore throat.

I signed the little one up for soccer this spring... Since then I've been getting hounded to coach other teams in the league. I don't have any problem coaching my own kid's team, but I'm not taking extra time to go coach a different set of kids, which would potentially require me to miss my kid's practice or games.

As a general guideline. If she's coughing up a storm and ****, I'm keeping her home because I don't want to be that dadhole.

At any rate, her rapid strep test was negative, but seeing as how the last two times she had strep this was the case, the doc prescribed antibiotics that she'll take at least until the lab results are back.

Also, at least for high school students here, they are on a quarter system. Meaning they take only four classes per semester, so they can only miss 4 classes before having to make them up over the summer.

My wife's sister and their family kind of irritates me. Shes significantly older and has kids (now 18 and 14) which mrs mac and I never missed a birthday party, came to multiple sporting events, etc etc when we were in our early 20s (and would've rather been doing other things). Now, her sister only has been to 1/2 birthday parties for baby mac and they've missed the last one for lil mac. Lil mac was also hoping to have a sleepover there Saturday and now they cant because their son has a basketball game. So i get to break that news to him today. Oh, and they're moving to Nashville in July. So, time's ticking on seeing your nephews grow up sis, and not much more i can do. It doesnt bother me as much, but I KNOW it hurts my wife.

My kid's afterschool care (local private school) forgot to tell the parents of the public school kids that there's no aftercare today. Luckily, they had someone there that gathered up the kids and called parents. Also luckily, my wife is on spring break from Penn State and was able to go and get her, but geesh. They had a handful of kids that were just stranded there as most parents are at work right now.

Both kids: “I don’t want to wear them. I want to wear my uniform.”

For PJ days at my daughter's school, her teacher lets them go all out. She brings in slippers and a **** blanket, too.

Kid had a rough day.

First a nose bleed at school. She’s susceptible to them, first one she’s had at school where she wasn’t kicked in the face, though.

She had plans to go to the neighbor’s for dinner and movie night that needed to be canceled.

It got canceled because when my wife went to braid her hair, she found lice.

Fun times.

Eek. So far my wife and I seem clear.

She’s got her hair drying right now from the spray stuff and we’ll use the comb to clean out anything we find. Hoping that takes care of it.

I may have lucked out with the spray I bought. I didn’t know what to get, so I just grabbed one. It says “kills SUPER LICE” on the front.

Looking at reviews online, it looks like there’s a large number of people that tried a few other sprays including nix that didn’t work, but this one did.

Hoping for the best.

Good on you both for finding it before exposing her to a bunch of other kids. I remember countless lice checks in elementary school (low key used to love the popsicle stick massage ) Hope it clears quick, good luck. Any nits?

We picked out quite a few adults and got some eggs out too.

The active ingredient in this spray is just salt… weird how that’s as effective if not more effective than other lice killers.

Checked little c2i’s sheets this morning. One little dead lice laying there. Got curious last night about salt to kill lice vs other lice killers. Seems too hippy/homeopathic to me.

https://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInfo ... erID=30398
At Day 15, lice per head infested reduced to 0.55 ± 1.50 in Sodium Chloride spray group compared to 5.45 ± 7.91 in the Permethrin group (p < 0.01). No serious adverse effects were observed in both groups. Sodium Chloride spray had superior efficacy to 1% Permethrin Crème Rinse in treating head lice and is a safe and excellent alternative to the current recommended treatment.
Neat…

Daughter texted my wife at 4:30am wanting to be picked up from her sleepover party, as she couldn't sleep. So, today started off fun.

Not a bad idea. Ours are off next Monday. We're heading to great wolf lodge Sunday night to celebrate.
