My daughter is continuing to take fun classes through Outschool.com...I cannot recommend that resource enough. She is doing a class today with six other kids across the world; the teacher is a music guy that loves video game music. The whole class is about the history of video game music from the 1970s to today.

She has learned about so much cool stuff about history, science, and other random topics she wouldn't learn about in school through these classes.

Our goal the last few weeks has been getting small Kane to sleep through the night. Last he did so and it feels good man.

That feeling when you wake up the next morning, check the monitor, and realize your kid is still sleeping for the first time is the best.

Oh man, I remember those days. My oldest (who is 15 now) never slept through the night until he was almost one, due to severe allergies/eczema that would keep him scratching all night. It was awful. Once we got rid of the stuffed animals and carpet (full of dust mites), his ezcema cleared up and he slept 12 hours. We hadn't been setting an alarm, for obvious reasons, and both of us were happily late for work that day. Good times.

Now he sleeps all day, of course.

He's 10 months, so I feel ya there. It's our fault for my little guy, though. We should have been trying to get him away from night bottles a long time ago.

Little c2i didn't start sleeping the whole way through the night consistently until she was 2ish. She just is not a great sleeper...

My son has slept through the night since about month 3. Got really really lucky with that. Sucks that he gets up at like 7AM on the dot though.

We've found my daughter responds pretty well to timers. We put one of those night lights that change colors in her room... Pink means you have to be in bed longer, green means you're allowed to get up and come out of your room. Same thing with bath time at night. She used to fight and fight us. Now we set a timer and when the alarm goes off, boom. She's right upstairs ready for a bath.

I was really impressed last night with it as we were in our backyard and she was playing with her friend from across the street. Typically it's a huge battle to get her to stop playing and come inside. Lots of tears. The alarm went off and boom... "BYE!!! I gotta get in the bath!".

7 AM isn't bad at all  I know you tend to stay up pretty late so it probably sucks, but both of our kids wake up between 6:30-7:30 and I am just fine with that. I've heard horror stories from other parents about their kids all being up at 5:30, especially this time of year when it is so bright.

I’m seething with rage at my son’s little league directors. Long story short. Much of the season had to be moved around due to rain. We went on vaca this past week and he missed 3 games. Now they have the playoff tournament. The game was supposed to be yesterday but again, due to weather, it was changed to today. My son was so happy that he would get to play only for us to be told that because the directors required a roster be submitted yesterday my son can’t play today. Further, he might not be able to play in the playoff tournament period because he didn’t hit 10 games played during the season due to the aforementioned rain changes.

I don’t see how the league thinks making a rule that punishes 7 year olds for things out of their control is a good idea and not shockingly we can’t get ahold of any decision makers to argue for some common sense for kids still learning the game.

That is stupid on many levels. Are they worried some team will bring in a 7 year old ringer for the playoffs?

My nieces 10U softball team went undefeated (15-0) and won their championship game yesterday.

Sadly though adults don't know how to act. One of the parents on the other side was making fun of one of the girls on my nieces team and basically made her cry after she messed up a few plays at 3rd.

Like WTF is wrong with people. These are 10/11/12 year old kids. The coach had to go over and talk to her and threaten to kick her out to get her to stop. The girl who got made fun of though for the last laugh by knocking in a few runs in the final inning.

The coach unfortunately is caught in the middle of having to deliver the news without a good reason. He’s a good dude and tried to get the ruling overturned. He said if they win today he’ll do whatever he can for Pavel Jr. to play in the championship game.

That's stupid on all accounts. I can see for like 12+ travel ball or something. But not 7 y/o Rec ball. Which by the way is a conversation we just had the other night, how hardly anyone plays Rec ball anymore and it's all travel BS.

Our little league is very strict about tournaments and the qualification of players because if a player gets on an all-star team, goes to the state tournament and is found out to be too old, not enough games, whatever, and the entire team is thrown out of the tournament. That happened to one of our league all-star teams about 10 years ago.

That went over well, let me tell you. They take their little league baseball very, very seriously around here.

Well we're going to wait a while to tell people but since yinz are all internet strangers (some of whom I've known for 15 years now) figured why not. Wife went and got bloodwork done and were expecting #2 (and hopefully only #2 and no more  )

15 years??!! I joined the old place right before the defection, but lingered around quite some time before that. Mostly looking for new arena news

Yeah, I joined in December of 2006. So right around the new arena now (hehe) time.

.Thanks all. Given the lengthy time and specialist visits it took for #1 I figured we'd be in the same boat, but none of that was needed this go around.
