A novelty? Wut?

and keep in mind I’m not blaming Trout at all for this. He’s more of a Shakespearean tragic hero than anything.

we’ll have to agree to disagree here. Personally I think that if Trout never makes the postseason again he’ll be remembered more as a novelty than an alltime great player

Mike Trout doesn't pitch every night. Outside of his batting, he has little effect on the outcome of a game unless he's making a play in the field. Same can be said for literally every Hall of Famer you compared him to.

Why would his TEAM'S success be attached to him?

MIMH... who is the best player of the 2000's or 2010's in your opinion?

Kinda makes me wonder what MIMH's thoughts are on Griffey...

MIMH probably thinks of this guy as a novelty, too.

Issue there is with the replay center. The balk calls were correct. But in the HBP situation, the HP umpire has one chance at it and it’s a tough look with the speed of the pitch and that location. Replay failed him on that. Supposedly, the Royals were simmering about some ball/strike calls too.

Did I just sort of defend Angel? I need a shower, stat.

Matheny's mom came to see him coach for the first time since he took the Royals job. When asked afterward how long the family had stayed, they replied "longer than you."
