Kudos to whoever found inflatable trash cans, I did not know those existed. I'm also glad to see that the pandemic didn't dampen baseball fans bitterness towards the astros.
Same, COVID hit at the right perfect time to let them off the hook but the fans are resolute. Love it.

Somehow, that Mets HBP isn’t reviewable. Why bother having replay for anything if a gamechanging play like that can’t be reviewed? They can review if a pitch hits a batter but not the location of where the pitch was when it hit the batter. Worst part is the umpire had it right the first time until he realized the ball hit the armguard and then his mind went blank to the rule. It is very different to have a batter get hit when he’s in the strike zone but it does happen. A professional umpire should be aware of it.

Joe Musgrove no hitter
First no-no in Padres history...and of course it's a former Pirates pitcher.

Love the double-hook DH idea.

I hate the DH, but could live with the double-hook idea.

It makes managers manage, does help out the starting pitcher problem, and gives the bench some meaning.

MLB: Let's improve the play, strategy and the speed of the game by implementing the double hook

MLB: Let's make the above changes moot by moving the rubber back 1' so that every pitcher is out by the 3rd inning anyway after throwing 100 pitches, 50 of them in play

Would 1 foot really make a huge difference? Feels like the only thing that would change would be guys throwing 97 instead of 99.

Who knows. That's why they're experimenting in the Atlantic League. Pitchers throwing an average of 97 instead of 99 is a decent difference
