Baseball needs to stop making fancy statistics and actually make changes to catch baseball up from the 19th century to the 21st century.

0.62 ERA sounds a fuckton better than 626. It’s an unnecessary stat

Eh. The point of ERA+ is to standardize ERA across the league with an easy to comprehend performance scale. 3.00 ERA might be great one year and ass the next year but 100 ERA+ will always represent the league average. Problem is that deGrom’s number is ridiculous.

DeGrom had his 5th RBI tonight and he has only allowed 4 ER all season. Apparently it seems widely accepted that he's one of the few pitchers that uses no substances on the mound which is even more mind blowing

Ohtani on the other hand has 17 HR and only 13 ER

that’s an interesting debate: who’s having the better season?

What Ohtani is doing is Ruthian but what deGrom is doing is unheralded. If he keeps it up it’s the best season ever by a pitcher

Partially torn UCL for Glasnow. Good move by the Pirates to get way out ahead of this and make it someone else’s problem.

I mean I get what he's saying. But also. If you can't throw a ball without cheating basically, then maybe you aren't as good as you thought.
