That said, I'd like to see a replay of that play. As I remember it, he was sort of immediately gesturing to the flag. Don't get me wrong, it didn't exactly read as "oh there's a flag, I shall throw an short ball to the boundary for a free play". But "he couldn't have known there was a flag so we'll grade a down that didn't happen" doesn't really feel right, either.
