Would still fire Narduzzi in a heartbeat. He's got a good QB, and his defense is ultra suspect.

Nard dog's defense came up with stops when they *needed* to come up with stops. That being said, Miami, Directional Michigan, and UVA all ran the same types of routes that always beat this stupid defensive scheme. I mean, there is a reason why there were two 100 yard receivers for UVA, including that #99 guy that looked to weigh about 127 pounds.

But college football is full of flawed teams and crazy games. For many years, the crazy games always seemed to tilt against Pitt and we sat around like alonzo mourning. This year, alot of those crazy games tiled our way, with the exception of that truly asinine non-safety call at miami. Really, in college fb, for a lot of teams, the difference between 7-5 and 9-3 or 10-2 is a few goofy bounces.

ktk said the thing out loud that I was afraid to. We've had some things go our way that normally don't outside of the safety thing. UVA fumbling a snap while driving for the game winning TD? check. A freak of nature monsoon starting as soon as we score in OT and lasting the whole UNC possession? check. Shipley dropping a wide open TD for Clemson that would have put them up 14-0? check. Gulp

Lets not forget all the wide open guys in the Tennessee games that were overthrown. Or that awful punt late in the 4th quarter that gave UT the ball inside the 50 (but was negated by a bad pass from Hooker). The super panthers dodged many bullets.

But as my buddies and i joke about when we golf, you make your own luck. Pitt has a superior QB and a superior WR. Nothing lucky about that 4th down touchdown pass late in the UVA game. The running game that was good enough to get it done when they had to. They made some big plays on defense when they had to. They got a kick return for a TD when the offense looked sluggish aginst UVA. They won several games without Mack, Stovall, Barden, and Bradley playing WR. So they deserve credit.

True. Perhaps you could look at all those coin flips that went our way and say each team had an opportunity to take it and the better team did.

My mum said there was a possession in the last minute where they drained the whole clock (good) only to have jeffress airball his shot (bad). One would think the coaching staff would stress that it would be a bad idea for Jeffress to take such a shot (becuase his shot is truly awful), but that might be expecting a bit much from this staff.

I forgot they even played last night.
