Looking forward to coming home after the game and reading dunn's angry posts after a first quarter that will feature 50 yard of total offense, including 4 carries for 9 yards from AJ Davis and runs up the middle on third and short from Vincent davis.

Anyways, here's hoping that barden is just on the cusp of being really good and ready to displace the veteranosity in from of him on the WR chart.

The WR depth chart is so weird. Addison is good. Shocky and Mack have never improved from the moment they stepped on campus. Wayne seemed promising and then kind of stagnated. Barden is the one to have hope for. Against all odds, Tipton isn’t injured yet.

Wayne seems like he is too slow for ACC play.

1. AJ Davis. I'm hoping against hope this is another pathetic attempt at Narduzzi playing coy with his depth chart. Unless he has some sort of Darrin Hall-esque senior year where he finally realizes that potential that had blue-blood programs looking at him, the only reason AJ Davis should get more than five carries on Saturday is if it happens in the second half with Pitt firmly ahead like 35-0, Abanikanda and V. Davis have already had their carries, and all the starters are out.

Don't get me wrong; I hope we're in that spot. I just don't get what the coaches see in him after this long. Someone on PL pointed out that he's their best back in pass protection and he's not bad out of the backfield.

2. I would have preferred to see Goncalves at LT based on his production last year when he played...or more accurately, the production of the running game. That said, some of the chatter on PL from those who have seen the practices seems to indicate Warren is there because he won the job with a terrific camp, not because Goncalves had fallen off. If so, that's probably a good thing. For whatever it's worth, Narduzzi said the practice post-game that Branson Taylor is apparently right there with Houy at RT as well. Guessing if things go well, this will be one of those games where these guys all get a decent amount of snaps.

3. I think this means we've seen the last of Joey Yellen.

4. I know what the defense lost but the depth that's coming back is something. There's speed everywhere. Kancey is a potential superstar at DT and I think Danielson is going to be a nightmare coming off the bench. Safety is a bit of an unknown, but I like the way Hill plays. After Ford left the team, he made some mistakes born mostly of lack of experience but I thought he still played well.

5. I'm afraid I know the answer to this, but I want to see if they've made any adjustments on defense to the things that BC, NC State, and ND exposed last year.

Ah yes, fall is incoming, when Pitt puts out a roster that's only going to get the usual 5-7 wins.

Worth noting:
Damar Hamlin (Bills), Jason Pinnock (Jets), Rashad Weaver (Titans), and Patrick Jones (Vikings) all made their respective NFL rosters.

Jimmy Morrissey and DJ Turner were both cut by the Raiders, but both of them reportedly played well enough in preseason to land on a practice squad somewhere. Practice squads get announced at 4pm today. Jaryd Jones-Smith was also in preseason with the Raiders, and he was another late cut.

Pitt players in the NFL:
Aaron Donald (Rams)
Tyler Boyd (Bengals)
James Conner (Cardinals)
Damar Hamlin (Bills)
JP Holtz (Bears)
Dane Jackson (Bills)
Patrick Jones II (Vikings)
Andy Lee (Cardinals)
Avonte Maddox (Eagles)
Brian O'Neill (Vikings)
Qadree Ollison (Falcons)
Nate Peterman (Raiders)
Jason Pinnock (Jets)
Rashad Weaver (Titans)
Jordan Whitehead (Bucs)
K'Waun Williams (49ers)

Lee and Williams sure did carve out nice NFL careers for themselves. It's also nice to see Holtz, Maddox, and Ollison still sticking around.

Bummed to see Morrissey miss the cut. Hopefully he finds a home. Turner should have came back imo. TIL JP Holtz was still around the league

This will be season number 18 for him. 264 NFL games so far. I can’t see how anyone has played more than him.

Edit: Lee is 31st all time in games played. One game ahead of Fitzgerald. Playing every game this season will move him into a tie for 21st.

Turner and Morrissey back to the Raiders practice squad. I'd bet a large sum of someone else's money that Morrissey is better than J.C. **** Hassenauer.

2 days before Super Panthers vs. Minutemen (minutepeople?). UMass is "ranked" on ESPN's opening Bottom 10 (which the kangaroo still reads from time to time), so that should tell you a bit about the minutepeople. pitt is a 38 point favorite. What would you *like * to see?
I'd like to see no stupid penalties, and 15 carries from Izzy.

I'd like to see Pitt win by 38 points, but as per usual, I bet it's a 2 score game and much closer than it needs to be.

Pitt will win by five. Izzy gets no snaps while AJ Davis carries the rock 35 times for 15 yards. When questioned after the game Narduzzi absolves himself from blame by telling the media “you’ll have to ask someone on that side of the ball”. None of the TVs in my house survive the madness. Come Sunday we all remain optimistic of a double digit win against Tennessee.
