I feel eerily confident in this Clemson game for some reason. Even with Pitt's past transgressions. Clemson's offense really sucks.

Historically bad offense. Like I don't get it, even with the injuries they have there is still a ton of talent...overthrowing balls and dropping catches.

Very Steelersesque tbh. Bad o-line (which has been a trend), bad QB play, turnover issues, drops. Weird. I thought they would fix their **** on their bye week, but nope. Syracuse always gives them trouble, especially in the Carrier Dome, but still...they barely beat Liberty the week before.

For a team that rarely used its starters after the midpoint of the third period, it's weird to see starters playing the entire game. Usually, only see that for ACC championship and Bowl/Championship games. Hence, a lot more injuries.
Packer discussed this a week or two ago on his SiriusXM evening show. He said the OL at Clemson has been the program's relative weak spot for more than a few years now. Their offensive lines haven't been bad, but they've been closer to average as compared to those at other similar-tier programs. I'm paraphrasing a bit here, but he suggested that Lawrence and Etienne were so good both independently and together over the last few years, they helped hide a lot of it.

This year, the O-line has taken a pretty big step back AND we may be seeing the effects of the attrition.

What I'm not sure about is whether Uiagalelei's struggles are related to the O-Line/attrition or whether he has just regressed. I look at what he did last year in his two appearances against BC and ND and I'm worried that all of a sudden, they figure it out this week and it starts clicking. Pitt's defense has played better these last two weeks, but I'm still not as confident in them as I wish I was heading into this.

This game really will be the biggest test for Pitt's offense, too. If they can establish the same balance that they did against VT, they may be able to win again with 28-ish points.

Pitt's o-line will need to tidy up, too. They have been a pleasant surprise all year but looked pretty ragged against VT. Kenneth shane pickett ran the ball like 12 times, mostly because he had to scramble out of some bad situations. I'm assuming Clemson's front 4 is just as good if not better than VT

What's more likely?

1) The football gods were asleep and missed KtK's taunting foul

2) The football gods were well aware of this cockiness, and are whipping up some juicy schadenfreude

Pitt currently 3 point favorites against the Super Tigers. ESPN's stupid FPI says pitt has a 63% chance of winning (whatever that means). Not sure what to make of this game. I think Pitt's offensive line got quite lucky last week that Kenneth was not sacked more. I *think* pitt is good enough to score 20 points against Clemson. If GT and NC state and BC and Syracuse have good enough defenses to keep Clemson's D to 14 points in regulation, I think Pitt's D is good enough to keep them to less than 20 points. I'm far less convinced about this game than VT.

Things that will help pitt win:
Good running game
No idiotic penalties (which is asking a lot from these chuckleheads on defense)
Zero reliance on the kicking game (neither punting nor field goals)

I think Pitt is good this year, because Pickett is good. This is not the type of game Narduzzi Pitt wins though.

Pitt is an 8-4 / 9-3 team. Not a 10-2 team.

Pickett’s prowess aside, the Panthers are elite on both sides of the ball,

I think best case scenario is that the coaching staff is to blame for the Maction loss.

D hasn't made a single damn stride. They beat up on bad QB's and get roasted by good QBs. Directional Michigan's QB was pretty good. Hooker played good for Tenn but we got dodged a bullet by having that jabroni from Michigan start the game (along with a key turnover). Pitt's D isn't any better than these other teams Clemson has played. But pitt's offense is distinctly better than those teams (MAYBE EVEN BETTER THAN GEORGIA'S OFFENSE???????). But no one should give credit to nard dog or the D for getting better.

They made adjustments and defended VTs RPO attempts a whole lot better than they did vs WMU. I know they aren't world beaters but I see improvements. Hallett actually was visible in a good way

Honestly. The fact that this team isn’t ranked #1 is an absolute crime.

I think Pickett enters the Heisman discussion after this game. Clemson is down this year, but they are still Clemson. National recognition comes from beating nationally recognized teams. Pitt hangs 40 on them and calls it a weekend.
