My wife and brother are both people that text me several times a day every day. Today I texted them both at about 11am asking if the 22nd works for pouring concrete. I want to get a truck reserved and it's getting late. Almost 4pm and no reply from either one.
Understandable but aggravating.

Ehh, it's not like you asked a question that required hours of research.Source of the post Understandable

I just know with all my soul that they'll both reply at 4:01pm when the concrete place closes.

I would have made that executive decision at 3:50. Green light it

My brother is helping with the pour and my wife is the matron of honor in a wedding that day, need to find out what time that fiasco starts so I can deconflict or decommit to going.
If we can't do the 22nd then the project stalls until mid-August.

Decommitting to the wedding is a slam dunk.

Yeah, the bride has been an absolute NTP66. My wife doesn't even want to go.

Sounds like you lost the invite, and will unfortunately have to decline.

I like the shop I take my car to, but they either fail to call me when my car is ready to be picked up, or take so long getting to it that it sits overnight. I always tell them if I need the car back that day, and if a different day is better for them, that’s fine. I dropped my car off at 8:30am to have them check my wheels (balancing), and they close in 45 minutes, still no word. I drove past the shop on the way home from grocery shopping, and it wasn’t out front, so I know it’s still not done.

Man, for me that all adds up to not liking the shop I take my car to.

Problem is that the other shops in the area aren’t great and are more expensive. I really wish my old shop hadn’t closed (owner retired and sold it; they tore it down and built a storage facility).

Called them this morning to ask wtf was going on, and they’re still looking at it. I’m told they want to rotate and re-balance and see how things are then… this is quite literally what I asked them to do yesterday. They are now closed again, so I won’t get the car back until Monday. Going to pick it up first thing regardless of where they are, and this is probably the final straw for me. Sick and tired of being told I’ll get a call that day only to be left hanging.
And honestly, this all just makes me want to go back to the dealership because at least they’re consistent.

The MLB App on my Amazon Fire TV refuses to work and the customer service for either is about as helpful as tits on a boarhog.

Sounds like they don't schedule very well. I take my car to a guy up the street that's about a 10 minute walk. If he doesn't call me I start over at about 4:30 and he's always got it done. We had to schedule my kid's inspection out to the 31st but they are efficient and unless there's something awfully wrong, they'll get it done same day even if they have to put brakes or whatever on it.
Only issue I have had was when he told me there was "absolutely nothing wrong with the suspension" when my kid's car had a rattle when going over bumps, when in fact it needed both rear shocks replaced, which ended up having to be done at a dealer in Rochester at a much higher rate.

Yeah, I have no idea what the issue is. Like I said before, if they didn’t have time to handle it on Friday they should have told me. The fact that they had my car for 8 hours and didn’t do literally the one thing I asked them to do just rubs me the wrong way. I just want my car back at this point, as we leave for vacation next weekend. They have wasted enough time that I doubt I’ll be able to have it seen elsewhere before then.

Car is apparently ready. Rebalanced all 4 wheels and rotated them, and he says he can no longer feel the vibration. Gonna go on a short test drive with him (owner) tomorrow.
