This is the first I’ve ever seen him, he is massive. The p2 guys said he was big and he might not have space to fill out more. Maybe that’s true, but he doesn’t even turn 19 till august.

milb.com has Mojica listed at 6'1" 195. Same height/weight as starling marte. Methinks that milb info might be a wee bit outdated for 5af's savior.

Sidebar: the kangaroo is also the same height/weight as marte. However, our athletic abilities and build are *slightly* different in the sense that he is friggin stud and I am not.

Albert Pujols got cut. Anyone think he could play left field better than this Hawaiian guy?

Sad end to an incredible career. Sometimes knowing you’re at the end is better than sticking it out for $50MM on top of the $300MM you already earned. Pujols left the Cards as a 328 career hitter with an OPS of 1037. His decade with the Angels has brought those numbers down to 298 and 921.

It is a fair question to ask: would you rather have an extra $50MM or retire a career 300 hitter?

 I’ve never been motivated by extreme wealth. I think of when Tommy Fleetwood’s $154k British Open purse was deposited to the account of a different Tommy Fleetwood and he thanked the guy and said he never would have noticed. I don’t blame anyone who does play out a ridiculous contract, but he’s been a shadow of himself for years and a shadow of the shadow of himself for the last couple years that at some point I would have thought professional pride would have kicked in.

It's stupid money, but it's money made from stupider money. We all knew the contract he signed was ridiculous, as there was no way it would make sense at the back end of his contract. But the owner was dumb enough to sign him to the contract in the first place. Not like it's hurting his bottom dollar, getting $150M a year in TV money alone.

Maybe he was always a .291 guy, numbers were inflated with the Cardinals by playing the pirates so many times.

The Pirates botched two rundowns today. Greg Brown and Bob Walk were disgusted.

However, not to be outdone in stupidity, Joc Peterson decides to run again and gets caught in another rundown ON THE NEXT PITCH after the second botched rundown. They managed to get him out though. Such bad baseball.

I don't see a video of it yet, but hopefully Jomboy does one.
