Yeah I remember Marte came up and killed it from the get-go. Literally homered on the first pitch I saw iirc. Then Polanco was coming up and smashing all of Marte's minor league numbers. It was an exciting time. And then it just never happened

That didn't seem right to me. usually a player is on waivers for a couple of days, and only after everyone is given a chance to claim do they conclude the process.

Also appears there were a lot of major "reporters" questioning what was going on, so I wasn't the only one who magically read about Polanco and Miami.
