So Cruz is going to slowly devolve into a dud every year until they lose him in the Rule 5 Draft and he proceeds to hit 300 HR for his next team.
Hes already on the 40 man right?

Alford and olivia have very similar minor league slash lines. Any chance either of those two fringey guys actually contribute?

Oliva seems like a body to me, they can play him in the outfield, he won't embarrass himself, but he also might string together something that makes people believe that there's more there than there actually is.

Alford, Blue Jays gave up on him, I would assume that he's ultimately a dud, but maybe he can put something together with no pressure to win and a long leash.

Since we love betting odds here...

Pirates have the lowest win total projection, at 58. This is the lowest since the expansion Marlins in 1993. Marlins won 64 that year.

The over / under is 59.5.

That is so low, I would not feel comfortable betting the under.

That 58 wins is a higher winning % than they had last year.

Olivia's ceiling is probably Newman (hits for a high average for a while, then falls of cliff) and floor is probably Kramer (hits for low average for a while, no one wants to see him ever again).

Todd Frazier may have signed a minor league deal with los Piratas.

John Dreker saying the same thing.

When you've reached the point in your career where your best option is a minor league deal with the pirates... that's baseball heaven

I’m still hoping they bring someone in that is basically my age. 4 years ago it was matt Joyce. 2 years ago it was melky and last year it was jarrod dyson. All three dudes were born a month and a half after me so i had a soft spot in my heart for them even if they stunk. Like the kangaroo, those dudes had physical limitations but hung around the game a while.

There were only 20 dudes born in 1984 that played in the league last year, so the pirates are running low on washed up guys in their late 30s. Anibal Sanchez is a 1984 guy, maybe he can come in dirt cheap and keep the dream alive

I watched Anthony Alford play high school football.
