none of us are professional baseball scouts.

everyone in the front office who didn't stick their neck out to try and block the inclusion of Glasnow in that deal deserves to be fired. I wouldn't be opposed to criminal repercussions for such blatant professional misconduct.

What’s going to be interesting is if Mitch Keller can’t figure it out soon. Will he be traded? Will the pitching coaches get fired first?

We were all sick of glasnow at that point, and the pirates had no use for him at that point. They were trying to make the playoffs (although looking back at that thread, they did some stuff that was truly idiotic such as a random clay Holmes start and SRod in general) and couldn’t afford to have him get starts. Glasnow wasn’t good enough to pitch high leverage innings. He had no reason to be in the minors. He was just....here.

Trevor Cahill has earned $48 million in his major league career. Might be time to hang em up and enjoy some of those millions.

The thing with Glasnow is that he was never ever going to get any better here. Not his fault, but had he not been traded he would have eventually been let go for not being good, then signed somewhere

And meadows... eh not sold.

Regardless, among the worst trades in sports history.

Familiar face at #5.

I think you have to go Leiter now. I guess Kumar has lost velocity or something, so he is out of the running.

Good for him. Has to be tough turning down the money at #36 and betting on yourself. I played in HS against a kid drafted in the 21st round by the pirates. Turned it down and went to Louisville and then got drafted in round #49 after college. Tough

Yeah, him and lodolo both bet right. I guess I just don’t understand the gamble. They are going to basically triple the signing bonus, but get nothing for three years, you could take the 1.5 mm, then immediately move to pro baseball and start your rule 5 clock.

But, what do I know, maybe the minors sucks compared to ncaa baseball

Maybe they can return Fowler as to the A's as well.

Pirates' twitter getting excited after this afternoons win.

I would just say that it is impressive that they are hovering at .500 even with so much dead weight in both the lineup and the starting rotation. Kuhl, Cahill and Keller are bed sores, and CF, RF and SS are like the co-ed spots in a PSL softball lineup.

They are not going to upgrade these spots, Hayes will come back, but lots of guys are playing above their heads (Moran and Reynolds in the lineup, Crick and richrod in the bullpen). Evans has already come back to earth.

As the leading Pirates' optimist, I am not there at all, still waiting for the MiLB to start.
