I mean it's Tyler Anderson. Who tf thought we'd get good prospects?
That one prospect account that posts constantly is always throwing out ridiculous returns, and obviously reply sections.

But anyway, that's to be expected, my new annoyance is seeing the P2 guys acting like the Pirates are facing some 40-man roster crunch. You don't have to protect some 21 year old that hasn't made it past low-A, maybe if he's a top 100 prospect like Peguero you protect him, but these randos that they're getting this deadline are not at risk of being taken in the rule V draft.

Lol yes I've seen those posts and also laughed. These guys that we just got for Tyler effing Anderson aren't getting taken in the rule 5 draft and if they do big whoop because we traded Tyler effing Anderson to get them in the first place

Perhaps these guys think its normal to have scrubs like Kai Tom and Louis Oviedo (RIP) stashed away on teams' rosters.

Our boy Carter has 2 hits in 40 AA plate appearances. One home run. I wonder if it went 460 feet like ohtani’s most recent bomb

Leiter signed with the Rangers for $7.9MM, a couple hundred thousand over slot. Drafting him would have nuked the entire plan. Also, our original tank target Kumar has his deal falling apart, especially at $1.5+MM over slot because his right elbow is **** and the Mets have concerns. While this is a likely vision of Leiter’s inevitable future, Rocker might be headed back to Vandy under the incorrect belief that he can improve his draft stock.

Is anyone (either here or in the baseball world) that convinced that Leiter was a sure fire #1 overall pick?

He probably has the best weighted value for ceiling / floor. But there are other variables to consider such as injury risk and the whole sticky stuff thing. That SS probably has the highest ceiling and Davis probably has the highest floor being the best college bat in the draft.

And, I would argue this is the best approach when you are picking at the top of the draft. Get the best college bat, then take HS Prep pitching prospects. They have done really well projecting prep pitchers, Baz and Priester are both top prospects in baseball, some guys they couldn't sign (Lodolo and Hoglund) are also highly rated prospects. Chandler and the other guy were both in that Priester range for draft rankings. They easily could have landed in Davis, a lineup fixture for 6+ years and two pitching prospects that will either, if the Pirates get good, be leveraged as trade chips, or if they stink, get worked in a future rotation.

That’s positive, the fan graphs blurb today basically calls him a long term triple a guy that can be org depth. Which is fine really, need to have three competent catchers in the organization, and that seems like his floor.

The other pitcher they got is raw, like has thrown 2 games in the dsl, but the fangraphs guy liked him as a long term play as wel

Makes sense. I thought I read neither were top 30 last year but Bins seems pretty valuable. He was the strong arm with some raw power but slow bat speed guy? With great AA stats this year? Too many names to keep straight I guess.

Great A+ stats but has struggled in the early days of his AA promotion. One scouting report I read really praised his defensive work, which plenty of catchers have proven is enough to make a go of it in the majors.

What would it take for a team to sign Elijah Green in 2022?
