In honor of the dismissal of Kyle Crick:
Crick was probably playing some honky ass music. Also,
“I was in my shower shoes during the scuffle, and the shower shoes ripped off a callous on my foot,” Crick said. “I’m healing up. I’m doing a little bit of rehab on this toe. It’s day-to-day. I’m trying to see where I stand in all of this.”
Baseball players are such **** dodints.

I’m sure Crick being an insufferable NTP66 bag played no role in the team deciding to DFA him.

Hmmm. More than I expected for him. Leaves about $2.7MM extra to divvy up between the other three plus if they want to sign Bishop.

Hopefully he's the Garret Jones of this era.

But that sets up nicely, at least on the lineup side. Colin Moran can go back to his true calling (part-time player and stud pinch hitter). I don't have a problem penciling in Gamel for a 2022 OF spot alongside Reynolds, Newman's defense is good enough to give him one more chance to man up and turn his bat-to-ball skills into hard contact. Second base is covered, either someone pays up for Frazier between now and 2022 and you give Castro the job, or you hold Frazier until the 2022 deadline. So it's really just getting an upgrade from Polanco, which is as simple as getting an actual MLB player (not a rule 5 retreads like Tom).

I don't have any idea about the rotation. Anderson might not be tradeable right now because of the sticky stuff change in his spin rate. The org will legitimately be liable if some Pirate fan goes on a murder spree if they go into next year with Kuhl and Brault penciled in as 40% of the staff. Brubaker is fine, I guess you should give Crow and Kranick as manning starts as possible to see if they have it, but i'm not optimistic. Keller will probably decide his calling is to buy a van and live out the rest of his youth off the grid rather than making another attempt at MLB. So, by my estimation, that leaves one decent back end option (Brubaker), some objectively bad options (Kuhl & Brault) and a bunch of blind dart throws (Kranick, Yajure & Crow). The only good pitching prospect above A ball is Roansy, who is probably getting TJ surgery before making the majors.

Keller is definitely redefining himself in another org. But other than that, pitching is looking really thin rn. Offensively, the Pirates are not in bad shape.

It's a little frustrating knowing how low payroll is that they could sign a few arms and still be under their peak payrolls from 2014-2016ish. And have a somewhat competitive team. And also knowing they won't do that

That’s about the rest of their overslot bonus pool

Hmmm. That's about what I expected for Chandler. The bonus of Solometo still surprises me and throws a wrench into my calculations. Chandler's bonus puts them $100k over slot and into the 5% buffer. $619.5k left in the buffer means they can max out White at $1.67M before they start losing draft picks next year, unless Kellington somehow comes in under his slot of $571k. I doubt that happens, but I also don't think UConn baseball is going to set him up to make more money in three years. My guess is we see Kellington, Bishop, and Corona to round out the over slot portion of the draft class while Lonnie gets to go play football in Loserville. Unless GMBC gets really crazy and is willing to sacrifice picks from next year.

GMBC would be crazy to lose draft pics over a guy who's committed to attend PSU. Questionable character right there. I'd offer him under slot

Getting the best college bat and two first round high school pitchers is basically the best case scenario for any draft.

White can go play football for all I care
