I was watching the 11 o clock news when I heard Nard dog say that Krull was playing like a first round pick. Not sure about that one, Pat.

If I was a more enterprising young man, I'd take this comment and run with it. And by run with it, look back at how many times an oversized white guy tight end terrorized the Super Panther secondary and/or the Narduzzi defense. We can start with that oversized doofus from Notre Dame (the grad transfer from Northwestern) and that guy from NC state last year.Says a lot of bad things about the secondary.

On the hoops side, 5-star, 7'1" center Efton Reid is announcing his commitment today and the boards at PL are approaching something between towering inferno and galaxy-wide implosion because it's believed that he'll pick FSU over Pitt.
I haven't been following this VERY closely because I don't follow hoops quite as much as I follow football, but Pitt has needed a legitimate center for years now and they could really use Reid. What has most up in arms about this is the idea that Reid has been considered a Pitt lock for quite a long time and if the FSU thing is correct, they'll lose at him at the 11th hour to a program that already has two other 7-footers committed. From what I've read, FSU told Reid that they would play him as a 4, and he may not want to be a center at the next level(s). That quite honestly is mind-boggling to me but again, I don't pay as much attention to hoops so maybe the game has evolved to the point where teams have 7-footers at both the 4 and 5 spots.
I'd say I'm be bothered by it but I think in the realm of college hoops 2021, it doesn't matter. I look at a transfer portal with 1200+ names in it and specifically, I look at Qudus Wahab, who entered the portal a few weeks ago. Wahab was a 5-star center from 2019 who caused Pitt fans to similarly lose their collective $hit when he chose Georgetown over Pitt a couple of years ago. Wahab is 1) a center 2) with NBA aspirations 3) who was not just starting at Georgetown but was a focal point of their offense, and 4) his coach was PATRICK F'ING EWING. For whatever reason or another, THAT situation just wasn't working for him.
Now, Wahab clearly has his reasons and there very well could be something else behind the scenes going on there. I guess my point is that I also can't imagine being a coach at a college program and trying to plan for any sort of stability year to year, because you're just not going to get it.

Either he got fired for cause (for example, hazing)
or

Yeah, I've been following Reid's recruitment over the recent weeks. It has been Pitt, tOSU and LSU with a handful of schools on the outside for weeks. The Rivals guy that is "perfect" in his crystal balls (he changes up to the day of though) had him at Pitt for weeks, and then last night switched to FSU. While FSU has been one of those schools on the outside mentioned, it came out of nowhere really. People thought it was down to Pitt and tOSU.On the hoops side, 5-star, 7'1" center Efton Reid is announcing his commitment today and the boards at PL are approaching something between towering inferno and galaxy-wide implosion because it's believed that he'll pick FSU over Pitt.

It sucks, Pitt always seems like the bridesmaid for these big time recruits. I expect to strike out more than get going up against some of the top schools in the nation. But man, it would be nice to get even one.
But yeah, PL is in full meltdown, fire Capel, he's worse than Stallings mode.

From my understanding, it's the latter. Some school board members just didn't like him because he is the face of PR right now due to his success. So they literally looked for anything that was considered "hazing".High school sports are dead for many of the same reasons reasons to why we think college basketball is dead.

Nothing specific, but some of the parents of players past and present I did talk to are pretty much saying the same thing (whether it's fact or from the rumor mill). Just some parents/members of the school board were not happy with him for no other reason than he wsa successful, they searched for anything that can be viewed as hazing (towel whipping, making fun of someone, just your typical guy crap), and ran with it.Being in the district, have you heard anything specifically? My neighbor is a member of the school board. I talk to him all the time. I'm going to ask. He never had anything bad to say, but there was probably some other members that thought otherwise. I'll let you know what he tells me.

What a stupid reason to get rid of a coach. Football is a cash cow so firing a guy because you don't like him is just dumb. I think it's more likely some kid was teased/hazed, thought the coach did nothing to help, and told on mommy and daddy. Not that something like that shouldn't be taken seriously.
We've only been in the district for 6 years and haven't met too many people associated with the high school. I think one of our neighbors had a kid on the team but pretty sure he graduated a couple years ago. We don't talk to those neighbors too much.

Pitt went up 24-23 in set 4 - match point. NOPE, Washington challenges, the 19th challenge in the last 20 points by my estimate, and it's overturned. Big momentum swings on this sht

Not looking gr8. Pitt is a good team but the blue bloods have too many horses and too much depth.
Momentum is a real thing in vb so having 2 timeouts plus challenges during each set really does help teams but makes it bad for the viewer.

It was a good game, pitt took it as far as they could go. Lund and Ndee are extremely good but 6 v 6 Washington had the advantage and once they shook the cobwebs off, they rolled.
