COVID-19

Postby Morkle » Tue May 18, 2021 10:06 pm

It’s not true that conservatives are starting to mask because they’re concerned about covid vaccine shedding, right. Some one talk me back from the ledge right now. This isn’t possible, right?
What in the heck is this?

Why would anyone start wearing a mask now and which reddit thread did you get this nonsense out of?
This was a Q conspiracy last week that now they should wear masks because the vaccinated shed something that is harmful. Or something like that.

I didn't wear my mask to go vote yesterday. It felt great.

That said, I still loathe the "I didn't get my vaccine and I'm still not wearing a mask!" people. They wear it like a badge of badassery.

I know we don't really care about case counts anymore, but today is the first sub 100 case day in Allegheny Count since October before the winter surge. Feels good.

PA is at its lowest 7 day average case count since late October, and nationally you have to go back to late June... COVID is canceled. For real this time.

LA County (pop: 10+ million) reported 120 new COVID cases Tuesday; 7-day rolling avg is under 250. The last time those numbers were so low was late March 2020 at the outset of the pandemic and initial safer-at-home public health orders.

Mrs Tif is having lunch with a friend today, and this weekend we're having other friends (1 pod) over to the house.

I'm still a bit concerned about variants in the long run given how many people are turning down the vaccine.

Hempfield School District allows fully vaccinated students, staff to go maskless
https://www.wgal.com/article/hempfield- ... s/36466047
The district is requiring students to provide proof of vaccination to the school nurse. Staff members must provide proof to human resources.
Now that's how you do it.

NYC lifted its ban on masks for vaccinated people. So, I saw people in the gym with no masks for the first time. In CVS, someone walked in without a mask and they asked to see his vaccination card...he said, "don't have it on me" and they asked him to put his mask on...

Those are the only two places I went today, but mildly interesting to see these types of interactions now after being down in the hole for 14 months...

I don't understand the idea of banning a mask mandate... if a company wants to do that, let 'em. Where my libertarians at?

I assume that parents can still send their kids in with masks, no? I didn’t see that in the article, unless I completely missed it.

I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow for the first time since the CDC announcement, so it’ll be interesting to see how things go. I don’t believe this store has changed their policy yet, and I expect everyone will still be masked up.

We’re allowed back at office now, but distancing and masks still required in all cases.

I’d like to get into Philly again at some point and see some familiar faces, but nah. Not like this. Call me when it’s not weird.

I think it’s just appeasing the anti-maskers. I don’t think these people give half a **** about freedom of choice (as it pertains to a private enterprise)

If the gay cake baker thing was switched (a bakery refusing to make a pro-Trump cake) you’re sure as **** the Repubs would be pissing themselves in anger at the Trumpers getting discriminated against t

Yeah, we all know it's dumb...

Masks don't negatively affect any other person that is not the wearer...there's no need for a law, anyone that's doing that should probably be fired from their job because it's definitely not what they should be doing...

If they happen to trip over that reasoning, it will be purely by accident...
