Pardon me sir, but the PA dashboard says you're at 38.8% fully vaccinated. There are 18 counties with less than you. My home county, for instance, clocks in at 30.3%, behind only Mckean, Potter, and Fulton county. We're at a whopping 37% vaccinated in good old Somerset County and 44% of those 18+.
Such a freaking disgrace.

Ah, I'm looking at the NY Times map.
Glad to see we're marginally less awful than I thought.

Centre County has had 3 straight days of zero new cases. Kinda nice to see.

In LA, only around 10% of people I see when I go out are going maskless indoors. (Mrs Tif and I are gonna wait about a month or so and see what the case numbers look like before we even really consider changing our practices) But up in Santa Barbara this weekend, those numbers were reversed, and only around 10% of people stayed masked up indoors. Similarly, when we go to businesses here the employees are generally un-masked (the patrons are staying masked up), but in SB every business we went into (save one bodega) all the employees continue to mask up (while the patrons were unmasked). It was a weird discordance, but it was super cool to see people's faces again.

Went to the mall for lunch today, and I have no idea what their mask policy is now. The “face masks required beyond this point” sign is gone, but 95% of the people were still wearing masks. Guess I should have asked when I ordered my food.

One other thing: The main drag in Santa Barbara is called State Street, and it has the bars, restaurants, retail, etc., along with the block on either side of State. During COVID, for like a 10-block stretch, they closed off the road to vehicular traffic to allow restaurants to expand outdoor dining safely. As we were walking along, we both were like, "Why did it take a global pandemic for the city to do this??? This is fabulous." Turns out, the restaurants and businesses in the lower State area all seem to agree; there is a City Council meeting tomorrow to address the temporary changes, and every restaurant and retail business we went into asked us to send a public comment to the Council to ask that the changes be made permanent... one restaurant actually gave us a take-home card with the email and web addresses of the Council with our check. The city of Long Beach is going through a similar deal with Pine Avenue right now, I'd be curious if anyone knows of any other situations like this. I think it's really cool, and just messaged the SB Council advocating for the permanence of the changes.
We go to SB a lot - it's only about an hour drive from where we live, even in the Before Times - but this last trip was extra fun. Part of that was surely because it was the first time both of us were at a place together away from our house in 18 months, but the 'State Street Promenade' was also a big driver in our enjoyment.
