COVID-19
also looking back at this chart: https://civiqs.com/results/coronavirus_ ... dline=true
so looks like the "Not getting vaccinated" group has been hanging around the mid-20 percentage (high of 30%, currently at 23%). Thankfully the unsures have steadily dropped over time and are now at 7% without increasing the No's, so that means the undecideds are moving to Yes or I've Already Been Vaccinated
looks like we can't expect more than 80% of the population to get vaccinated though. Hopefully that's not going to kill us

Can’t find it now, but saw an article over the weekend that said an increasing number of people are skipping their second vaccine appointments. If it’s not the ‘muh rights’ pieces of ****, it’s the lazy ****.

My boss is postponing hers because we are in the middle of a week long presentation for a three year project.

Two serious posts from meow in the same day??
It’s called a no-show rate and it isn’t all doom and gloom like the article portrays. There are a ton of reasons why the CDC thinks the no-show rate is so high. A big percentage of it is because of the reconciliation process. It is extremely difficult to match a person that went to Walgreens for shot one and then to CVS for shot two. In an effort to safely vaccinate - meaning providing a “safe place” for certain populations - the registration questions are kept to a bare minimum. That helps get a certain slice of the population. That also causes difficulties connecting the dots with patients.
At the end of the day, one dose is pretty damn good. Two is better, but one is good.

I wonder how many of those were due to no reminder for the second shot. I never received a reminder for mine. Luckily I kept checking my vaccine card
COVID-19
It has been pretty much one whole month since Arkansas moved away from COVID restrictions. Not much change in my home liberal bubble of Fayetteville, but from what I have heard almost complete abandonment of masks and social distancing the in the rest of the state. And, AR just reached the lowest number of new COVID cases since the very start of the crisis in spring of 2020...

I am golfing in Arkansas in a few weeks. Keep up the good work.

If you are coming from a "masks-conforming state/place", it may feel really surreal. Admittedly, we haven't traveled much in the last year, but we have been a few times to Big Cedar Lodge resort in Missouri:I am golfing in Arkansas in a few weeks. Keep up the good work.

It's one of those 1-percenter places (we either go there for a day trip or find those 3-4 days when the cabin is only ~$300), so I'd assume people have quite a lot to lose (in terms of very comfortable life) by dying. Last time we were there (about 1 month ago), the proportion of guests with masks/socially distancing was 5% at best. I bet if/when we go there next time, it would be 1%...
I spend 99+% of the time in my home time, which still requires masks everywhere indoor (so do all the major employers - Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt, + 100s of their partners with offices in the area), but you move just a tiny bit outside - and it's a totally different country...

I will be in Little Rock.
